The Lone Bashkir Curly horse is a very unique and set apart breed. They are well known for their curly coats, caused by many gene mutations, and their versatility. Lone Curly Horses are often found as chestnut, but have a wide variety of colors, some more rare than others. They range in a height of 13-16 hands, but are often found between 14-15 hands. These horses are found wild in Nevada, USA. Although they are wild, they are also known for their calm and gentle nature. Lone Bashkir Curly Horses got their name due to them not staying in herds with other horses, like most do. Since they are always separated, they often wonder far into owned land and cause disruptions. They have very much grown in population, and many problems have arose, therefore creating the LBC Organization. The LBC Organization is running a rehoming program to protect these horse's while still preserving them. If you're interested, keep an eye out as many are posted for rehoming daily.

Show Name: From Smoke And Ash
Barn Name: Phoenix
Gender: Mare
Height: 15.3hh
Halter: Red-orange fade
Prompt: This little girl was originally destined to be a show horse, but she had a mane that was extremely scruffy and patchy- no matter what her old owner tried, it never grew in right or looked good, and it would have looked terrible in a show... So they burned her mane off, leaving her neck clean to standalone for beauty purposes and to make her be the show horse they wanted her to be.

Barn Name: Counselor
Gender: Mare
Height: 16hh
Halter: Neon Pink
Prompt: Counselor isn't just one of those horses who is good with kids -- she genuinely enjoys spending time with them. This attribute is what gave her her name, but it's also why she no longer has a mane. After lovingly allowing countless children to practice their grooming and show braiding on her mane and forelock, poor Counselor's hair was so ripped, torn, and tangled (plus there was definitely chewing gum in it at some point; no one has quite been able to figure out how that happened) that it started falling out and never grew back. Counselor didn't mind her missing mane at all, but she was sad that the children were no longer able to practice with her. Still, she's everyone's favorite and is more than happy to sit for hours while they tie up her tail in whatever fashion they choose.

Barn Name: mara
Gender: mare
Height: 14.3hh
Halter: pink
Prompt: mara is actually a rescue horse and when a stable was shut down and her current owner found her neglected in a dirty and way too tiny stable box without any love, care and company, they took it upon themselves to rescue her. her condition was so terrible that she was not only frightingly thin, but also had several untreated illnesses. when they worked on getting mara healthy again and took care of her mane and tail, they quickly noticed that barely any of the hair was even attached to the roots anymore and had instead fallen out and was so matted and tangled that nobody even noticed it when they first saw her. for some reason it never really grew back, but at least mara is a healthy and happy horse now, even without her mane.

Show Name: BA's Dark Mystery
Barn Name: Myst
Gender: mare
Height: 15hh
Halter: surprise me!
Prompt: Myst wasn't always maneless. She did have one at one point but her loss was nothing really big. Her last handlers had simply been braiding her mane too tight over the years and it simply started falling out.
Myst really didn't care too much, as she didn't let something like her mane define her. Occasionally she'll get the question of how she lost it from someone new, only to explain it was just something boring and small with absolutely none of the tale being interesting.

Prompt: two words. cow. horse. whinnie was never the show type, she's fully registered in order to show, but she's never had that sparkle like most show horses have, so we use her as a ranch horse. she's naturally cowie, she has no tolerance for slow cattle or hard headed cattle, she'll run them in the dirt or bite and nip if she has to. what does this have to do with losing her mane however ? well, a certain ranch hand, won't say names or anything ( andrew :| ) put whinnie in the wrong pasture :cowboy:
whinnie was put in the pasture with the cattle, so i'm sure you could imagine how that went. a couple of our hard headed cows started bothering her, and being the tough little cow pony whinnie is, she ran them, but in the wrong direction. one of the cows ran through the barbed wire at the far south end of the field, and whinnie charged straight through the fencing with them. she wasn't badly injured, but her curly coat got matted into the fencing, along with huge chunks of her mane and tail. once we got her unstuck from the fencing however, her mane was no more. various chunks were missing, so our ranch hands decided to just clip it completely, and now we keep it cropped completely off due to it never fully growing back in. her tail came back in pretty nice however, and the chunks of her curly fur grew back in like nothing happened. we make sure now to keep her far away from the cow pasture.

Height: 16hh
Halter: black bean brown
Prompt: Newt's loss of mane is a mystery many horses and people don't know the origins of how and why Newt has no mane. many suspect that it was from a fight or from natural causes... the actual reasons for the lack of mane might be more odd than people may think. It all started from a normal Wednesday, Newt was relaxing in the morning cool breeze and doing her normal routine until SWOOOOSHHHH an abrupt gust of wind targets Newt and BOOOM her mane flew off of her head without any interference making Newt blink in confusion from the sudden coldness until she looked at a puddle and saw her long mane with slight curls was gone.

Halter: red
Prompt: It was a warm sunny afternoon and Applebee was happily wandering around her paddock. She suddenly spied a delicious treat. Hanging from the branches above were apples, but the apple she saw was shiny and red she needed that apple. Being a tad shorter than most it was a difficult task. Many leap attempts were tried but failed. What she failed to notice was the bees hive hanging above. On this particular leap she headbutted the hive and thick honey soon covered her head and neck. Applebee was soon meet with angry bees and off she took. Running for her life, she soon waded into the dam and patiently waited for the bees to leave. Once the bees calmed down she sauntered towards her stables and was.soon meet by her handler. With the thick honey matted into her mane and no way to remove it safely, they decided best to shave it off.
