Prompt: Goosefang is an old, hard-headed tom that does whatever he likes and gets away with it. Although, something he is incredibly proud of is his pride. Not only is he stubborn and arrogant but he's seriously got a high self-esteem, some may say perhaps a bit too high. Goosefang was supposed to retire at seven years old but decided he wants to keep working, so he could mock and bother all the other guards on how "BACK IN MY DAY-" whenever they began complaining or feeling sore.

"Watch this," Gullcry said, puffing out his chest. As he took a moment to sit on the beach and opened his mouth. the perfect uttering of a seagull came out. A cry which, to the gulls, meant come here! There is food!

"This is never going to work!"

"Trust me," Gullcry whispered. Sure enough, a minute later, an entire flock came down towards the hunters. The excited cats began their intricate dance, going after the gulls that had answered the false cry. That night, there was PLENTY of food to go around! Gullcry was his proudest ever, and when asked how he did it? "Well I listened... thats it. Listened and learned. Next I want to learn how to speak salmon..."

‘’Wait! We can-’’ it was too late, her daughter let out another hiss before disappearing out into the forest.
‘’See you another time, old cat.. I’m leaving and there is nothing you can do to stop me…’’ She could remember how desperate she once was to find her daughter, spending moons searching for her. But instead she found someone else.

She could make out the figure of another cat, completely still. A trail of a fox remained, tufts of it’s fur left behind. She almost didn’t see the small body lay in the forest, shivering almost lifeless. A moment of hesitation passed before crouching low to the kit. ‘’You’re safe now.’’

The kit she had once found in the forest was now safe, and older. This kit was all that she could have wished for, and she was so proud of what that kitten in the forest had become.. And maybe even more proud than her own daughter..
