You stop for a second, paw prints mar the snow before you the three toe-pads marking it an Arevia.
The Scientist behind you haw and hum at the paw prints marking down notes and speaking in low tones, Dr. Centric watches from behind the search party bundled in layers of cold weather clothing.

Dr. Centric walks up to you, "I say whoever finds it first gets to claim it as their friend." they said with a chuckle Potos sits quietly in the snow behind them tipping his head and his glowing eye fades into exsistance, it flicks around before looking up at the docter.

They glance at eachother before turning to the entire search party.
"Let the Arevia I search truly begin."

Just follow the tracks. That'd be simple enough, right?
Of course, this was the only thought that crossed Kris' mind as he picked up his feet and began to trudge through the snow. The cold weather was certainly going to make the searching harder than it needed to be, but in the end it'd be worth it if they could make a big discovery like this.
Taking heed to avoid stepping on the pawprint tracks as he followed along, he kept a steady pace in trying to see where they lead to - he knew that if he ran too quickly and ran out of energy, the cold would bite him pretty hard - even with the layers of jackets he was wearing. And it'd be detrimental to cause the research team to lose one of the search party because they decided to run willy nilly.
Eventually the tracks came to a stop in the snow - as the snow came to an end at the opening of a cavern. Guess he'd be stumbling in blind, then? Grabbing a flashlight from his jacket's pocket, he clicked it on and began the trek into the cavern.
It'd be worth it if he could find the Arevia I.

"Well that seems a little rude." Came the soft mutter under their breath. No one would hear, not with a scarf wrapped around their neck, half of their face buried in the fabric for warmth. Not to mention, everyone was fixated on the Doctor, and probably having their own set of thoughts.

To claim Arevia I? Even with good intentions, claiming them as a friend, it still seemed a little... How would they put it- not right? the path to friendship was a two way street after all.

It just felt... Wrong.

But alas, Kaize did get wrapped up in this search party. Might as well do something while they were here.

The snow was nice, it's been some time since it was a fresh blanket of white. Perfect for tracking trails and footprints, which is where the majority of the search party went. It was an obvious Arevia path after all. Pawprints and a tail. Kaize lingered back though, being among the few to venture off in their own direction. Peace and quite, maybe play in the snow for a bit until the search party was done and ready to head back.

The Branch researcher stood there in the snow, watching the rest of the Search party make a quick rush to follow the tracks ahead of them, or the odd few branch off from the path. She turned towards the arevia she had brought along with her to perhaps help keep this newly rumored arevia more at ease than they could have been around just humans "What do you think, solitude? want to follow the group along these tracks?" the question got the slothful arevia glancing between the snowy 'path' and the human in front of them, before sedately walking alongside the mystery trail "Alright, i trust your intuition on this one, though i hope the others dont spook them with that nonsense they are spouting"

the taller of the pair made sure to note the possible hiding spots to check on the round back. She hoped Solitude would work their magic, as despite their name, was quick to make friends with the other arevia that hung around tempest lab grounds. She smiled into the fur lining the hood of her coat 'Maybe whoever finds them wouldnt mind me hanging about their work area to meet the new arrival, maybe let my own otherworldly buddies help socialize 'em~' the thought earned a small chuckle and a glimmer of hope in the Researchers eye, before she takes a moment to steel herself for whatever may lie ahead in the caverns ahead of the group.

It was a hard choice between the responses but I like how Kzryail handled the prompt, it shows an moral obligation towards the Arevia I due to the way the Doctor phrased the words (Calling myself out because I misphrased it after speedtyping it.)

I had a hard time picking due to the time and effort art takes, but was more impressed by the written response given rather then the art responses.

You stumble into an alcove dripping stlagmights are heard from furthing in the cave and a soft cyan glow lights up the surrounding rock and mineral lining the cave entrance. Taking a step forward a chirp sounds through the area and makes you pause.

A three headed creature stares back at you from its place hidden in the shadows, bioluminescent lures hanging from its heads and tail.
It watches you with one bright floating eye and its tail flicks warily.

The Arevia I has been found.

And with the last Arevia being found this is the end of the Christmas Advent Calender, I hope you had fun!
