THE PANDA ANT!

Brownstripe loves panda ants. He says they are amazing, unique creatures, and that it's terrible that they're almost extinct. If he sees one of his clanmates trying to eat a bug, most specifically the PANDA ANT, he rushes over, takes the panda ant and runs away. Once, he found his best friend, Velvetant!

That's what he named her. She's a unique panda ant, because she reached 2cm and that's a lot more than 8mm!

Velvetant doesn't understand what she's doing in Brownstripe's clan, but she knows that he cares about her as much as she cares about him. Brownstripe wouldn't trade Velvetant for anything! Not even for a giant bowl of meat.

The only thing he says when someone asks him what his favourite bug (or creature) is, you can almost PREDICT that he will say:

the little guy was marching along on the grass carrying the herb he so desired. he was decently bigger than your average leaf cutter ant and surprisingly intelligent.
dirtpelt had stood infront if him and pointed at the herb he was holding trying to ask where he'd found it, in which the ant responded with giving him the herb.
he took the kind gift and went on his way. a few days later, the same ant was hiding alone, shivering under a log, both suprising behaviors of an ant.
dirtpelt took the ant in and after they decided they didnt want to leave, dirtpelt named him after the herb he was carrying when they met, chervil.

Prompt: Sometimes, in ones life, you come across something you really really wanna squish. Gently. Affectionately, even.
This is how Dumpy came to be.
Cedarstep found a larval Hercules beetle, many moons ago, and decided to keep the funny little worm, not anticipating it would ever be anything BUT a funny little worm.
This was, of course, until the day Dumpy disappeared.
Cedarstep was in an absolute panic, turning over stones and running amok causing chaos in search of his wiggly pal.
This went on for days, and just when Cedarstep had run out of hope and given in to dispair-
there he was! He'd recognize those buggy little eyes anywhere, it had to be his Dumpy!
But oh, how he'd grown! Into such a handsome little tank of an insect.
Despite lacking wiggles and squish, Cedar still loves his strange little critter.
He had never really considered a "favourite" insect before this, did it go by taste? Colour? Size?
Too many options! And so, Dumpy is his favourite insect by default.
