Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

All the barn help have locked his stall and gate to his pasture yet they still haven't figured out how he has been getting out. The ongoing bet is that he crawls under the electric fence or he jumps it. But people have been noticing that he seems to be testing the fence with his whiskers to see if it's even on so it might be a mix of both depending on the day.

Prompt: As his name suggests, Riot loves to cause riots in his barn. He has mastered getting out of his stall, no matter what type of lock is on it, and he'll rile up every horse in the barn and then lead them outside to give the trainers, stable boys, and other people a hard time catching him. He's never hurt anyone with his riots, but Riot makes it difficult when he gets the other lead stallions from the other paddocks to lead their horses everywhere they're not supposed to be. Riot also enjoys jumping the fences, stealing buckets, halters, and even saddles a few times, when he's left unattended in the barn. Riot has also began to figure out how to open doors, and he'll get into the feed room and drag out bags of grain and oats to the other horses to feast upon. When he isn't causing havoc in the barn, and is in the ring, sometimes he will do his own "tricks" as the trainers say, as he'll rear up and walk on his hind legs for a few steps until the lesser experienced rider slides off. When he's in a serious setting/mood, Riot will be very focused and often its hard to believe he's the stallion who causes the most chaos in the barn.

Most often you can find them hidden in a haybale in the aisle. A few humans have caught on to her love of the game, and happily play along. Thankfully, nobody has been too angry about involuntarily joining her game so far.
