Cat Name: Quillstar
Gender: Female
Rank: Leader
Clan: Reachclan
Age: 61 moons (5 years and two months)
Prompt: Quill was a gruff stray cat plagued with strange dreams of a great gathering of cats in a forest throughout her life. To her confusion, she was once approached by a cat she recognized from her dreams. Quill wasn't sure what to think when the cat claimed she was supposed to lead Reachclan. What was a clan? She had no idea, but she was dragged into becoming the first leader of Reachclan regardless. She's very stressed due to all this mess, feeling very underprepared and underqualified for her position as leader. Quillstar tries to uphold a straight face for clan's sake, but simmering under her cool facade is a mountain of stress.

I absolutely love this design, she reminds me of one of my old kitties ;; Good luck to everyone entering!

      Cat Name: midnightglory
      Gender: afab
      Rank: tbd
      Clan: kingdom of khafra
      Age: 40 moons
      Prompt:

"You don't understand...once they find me...." her voice trailed off, which allowed an uncomfortable moment of silence to pass between the two felines. A sigh was soon to follow, a mumbling of words before the tom spoke. "What did I tell you? I knew joining that so-called colony would be the death of you." Midnightglory's eyes widen, pelt bristling - due to either fear or anger, perhaps both. "Do not speak such words. This will not be my last stance."
XXXXPerhaps these words were meant to comfort both her old comrade or maybe herself. Or at the very least, attempt to. Once more, the duo sat in silence, before the tom spoke again. "There was a reason why I left Menes. They're nothing but a group of cruel cowards." Midnightglory shifted a tad, a scowl now apparent on her face. "And Khafra is any better?" At her words, the tom sprang to his paws, reaching the molly within a couple of strides. "Quite better. You wouldn't be fearing for your life among them."
XXXXMidnightglory flinched just a tad. "I am not, fearing for my life! What do you expect me to do? Flee? I have too much to lose!" she exclaimed, hardly able to breathe. He blinked, before asking the question Midnightglory had hoped he would refrain from. "What have you done...?"

He didn't understand. He wouldn't understand. But her after learning of her apparent future...she was sure even the Kingdom of Khafra wouldn't let her in. There was simply too much at stake... The molly had kept her back turned to the tom for the entire course of their conversation, up until now. With a shaky breath, the molly turned her head to face the tom, forcing a steady expression upon her face as she awaited the outburst. Though, only a mere whisper followed. "The blood of Sahar..."
XXXX"Not only that...but I am expecting my first litter." she murmured, letting her gaze fall upon her paws. "No. You cannot be serious." Midnightglory whipped around, fangs gleaming as a hiss emitted from her. "I am QUITE serious. And you've done NOTHING to HELP me. I asked for you to come to HELP me, not tell me how wrong I am nor what'll happen to me if Menes finds out. After all, this is your fault to begin with. I never asked for the blood of Sahar and now look, it has ruined me and my life! With a past like mine...I don't deserve such abilities, let alone want them."
XXXXBut by the time she had come to her senses, she noticed that the tom had already left. A singular form rested upon the horizon, slowly shrinking with each passing moment. No. This couldn't be. This couldn't be it. But surely, if her own father wasn't willing or perhaps even able to help her, this really would be her last stance. If she returned, she'd be exiled. Khafra wouldn't accept her, knowing she wasn't a true exile most likely. And now, a singular question hung in the air:

      What would she do now?

Age: 27 moons
Prompt:
Aspenleaf stared in disbelief, her mind twisting, her mind racing. She backed up shakily "wh....what in the name of StarClan?" She asked herself, gulping terrified, what could this mean? It wasn't time for this yet! MistClan wasn't ready for this! They still needed time! She panicked, the forest cats already had plenty of time to prepare, same for the cloud kingdom and the mercats but...MistClan had no clue! There was no way they were ready for this yet! This came way to fast! She twitched her tail nervously, they still had time, right? This couldn't be happening now! She paced her tree nervously, they must still have time! Her heart raced from nervousness , there was no way they Fire cats were ready yet!! They had to wait longer, nonoonononononono Aspenleaf told herself, tears welling in her eyes. AspenLeaf just wanted to pause everything right now and tell MistClan what was coming, but she knew they couldn't. That would break the prophecy, MistClan had to find them theirself, thats what the prophecy said. Hopefully they would find them or the Mercats soon! then it'd be no time before they found the cloud kingdom!
please let there still be time! AspenLeaf begged StarClan desperately, this was for the good of MistClan and all of them. AspenLeaf stared into the trees internally panicking, how quick would this come? Please let there be enough time to prepare!

Cat Name: Constant Essence
Gender: afab
Rank: Marchionissa
Clan: ronan's vow
Age: 25 years
Prompt:
essence has a lot of worries, mostly about her brothers. how is manor holding up? it hasn't been that long since his mate passed away during a rockslide and isn't one to easily share his heartbreak even with family. is pillar really doing alright after taking over the vow? he gives off an air of ease but it was a lot to handle all at once. and then once she finishes reassuring herself by making sure manor and pillar are both well-rested and fed, more personal worries start to creep up. is she doing the best that she can as Marchionissa? is she supporting her brothers enough? pillar hadn't had any kits with his mate, silent daybreak, yet; would anyone expect her to take a mate and potentially supply the Rex's lineage? would she ever be able to share her own worries with anyone else?
but before her thoughts get too overwhelming, vibrant goldenrod passes by with her fur smelling of hints of mint and lavender. with just one smile, essence melts. maybe her worries weren't so earth-ending after all.

    Cat Name: Ophelia
    Gender: Female
    Rank: King's Advisor
    Clan: Falls of Eden
    Age: Twenty-one moons
    Prompt:
The rebels would forever be the bane of her existence.

Impetus, reckless and Stars-forsaken cats prancing around with their overzealous desire to overthrow the King. Except they weren’t prancing. They were gaining ground. They were gaining traction, momentum and support pouring in from all sides as each day flitted by.

Hence the reason she was stuck here. Here in the upteenth meeting of the morning with a group of ambassadors, diplomats and the King determined to advocate for violence. For blood to be spilled. Costs they couldn’t afford with the Kingdom as divided as it already was.

Perhaps the rebels should be the furthest thing from her mind.

“... with all due respect to the Advisor, I respectfully disagree. We’ve been too lenient with these rebels. Our actions must be swift. It must be immediate and merciless.” Piercing blue eyes lingered on hers, a challenge laced within. “We execute all possible perpetrators on suspicion.”

Ophelia’s jaws clenched as she tamped back a sigh. Count on that serpent to suggest such a thing. She rose to her paws, keeping her gaze firmly on the other she-cat’s. Her ebony fur cascaded in waves, blue eyes haughty… and challenging. Asena. Always an advocate for violence and immediacy. A fool in the advisory council of the King.

And forever a rival for the King’s lead advisor.

Squaring her shoulders, she cleared her throat. “Your Majesty, executing all possible perpetrators on suspicion is an excellent way to lose our support from the Eastern and Western Villages.” Her eyes swept to the King. “Toying with fear is the last thing we should be doing with how… unstable our current situation is.”

“Interjection.” Asena’s voice cut through the air. “We’ve tried the lead advisor’s approach for moons. And it hasn’t worked has it?” She paced along the floors of the chamber, claws clicking along the smooth marble. “Being patient and benevolent has only worked to the rebels’ advantage. We need to act… and your reluctance is concerning… Ophelia.”

    She stiffened. “Are━”

“Now, hush. Listen.” The dark-furred molly’s tail jerked sharply. “Your reluctance to act, to take action, to strike makes it almost seem that you side with them, no? You refuse to lift a paw against the rebels… almost like you’re one of them. Are you?”

A threat balanced on knife’s point.
    But an idle one.

    She wouldn’t be cowed.

Ophelia stepped close, closing the space between them. “My loyalty is not in question. I’ve served the King faithfully for many moons. Unless you garner proof, I suggest keeping your idle observations to yourself.”

Her muzzle curled into a faint smile… almost serpentine as it crawled across her features. “I apologize to the court. My accusations were unfounded.” The she-cat’s voice dropped to a low whisper… directed to her only. Her eyes glinted, although her polite smile remained frozen in-place. “I suggest you watch your back.”

With a nod, she lifted her chin, ignoring the frost sweeping through her blood. She wouldn’t be cowed. She wouldn’t. It was just… rivalry. But her gut was insistent, ringing a clear warning. A warning breeze before the storm.

    Or was it?

The King rose, a commanding aura falling across the room. “Asena, I would like to hear your recommendations. The current situation is troubling as is.” His sharp gaze silenced the courts. “We need all possible options for our next play.”

“Of course.” The dark she-cat managed a stiff nod. “I don’t say this lightly… but I recommend an edict be set out to all the villages, warning of our next steps. Any rebels or suspected conspirators will be apprehended and… immediately neutralized to ensure the peace of Azeryn.”

Ophelia shook her head. “This is asking for trouble. What about━”

“Silence.” The King’s gaze cut to her. “Ophelia, ridding the rebels from our midst is our highest priority. It should take precedence over all prior courtesies━”

Claws clicked across the room, light and swift. Calculated.
The Imperial. The royal guards of the King.

They moved like shadows, sweeping across the marble stones of the courts with an unmistakable grace and elegance ━ coordinated and calculated, each knowing their place in this dance. Their captain spoke first, his voice smooth and steady. “Your Majesty, we need to get you to safety.”

The air whooshed out from the courts.

“...we have cause to believe there will be an attempt on your life.” A pause from the captain. “Right here.”

The captain’s gaze flitted to her.

Her heart stuttered. No. It couldn’t be.

“I suggest you watch your back.”

Could it be? A thinly veiled threat… what had that snake done? Her gaze flitted to Asena, to the snake with thick, dark curls, lurking at the corner of the room. A small smile played on Asena’s muzzle. Knowing.

Her stomach dropped as the Imperial slipped towards her. Their words were a blur, a soundless noise drenched in water. What she did hear… mere snippets was enough.

    Spy. Traitor. Conspirator. Murderer.

She had far other pressing matters on her mind now.

Cat Name: Moon
Gender: afab
Rank: Swimmer/Loner
Clan: FrostClan
Age: 36 moons
Prompt:
They're coming.

Moon flicked her ear towards the winds, straining to catch any sort of sound. Danger was lurking, she knew that much - she just had no idea where it was coming from. Where it would strike next.

A low growl sounded beside her. Tensing, she turned towards the sound, fur prickling. A long snout pointed down at her, piercing yellow eyes staring into her own.

Claws sliding out, she swiveled one of her ears forward, keeping the other out towards the wind.

"What is it?" She hissed softly. "Do you smell something?"

It was quiet for a moment. Wind continued sweeping by her ears, empty of sound, full of foreboding even in its hollowness.

Finally, her sister spoke, voice deep and gruff. "I think so." She tilted her long snout back, towards the barren trees that laid north of the pack's den. Moon strained her ears harder towards the trees, but still, she heard nothing but the wind. She envied her sister's sense of smell - all of the wolves' senses, actually - but now wasn't the time for envy.

"But it isn't..." Smoke scrunched up her snout, raising it towards the winds that blocked Moon's hearing. "I'm not sure it's them."

"There's something else out there?" Moon lashed her tail, anxiety spiking freshly through her. "Is it dangerous?"

"You think I can tell through my nose?" Smoke gave her a playful whack of her tail, and it almost threw her off her feet. But then her face was serious again, brows furrowed, and Moon decided against complaining.

She was about to suggest heading home, definitely not checking out whatever else was out there, when Smoke's eyes lit up in that way they did when she was about to do something stupid. Before she could even ask, a huge wolf nose was buried in her fur. With a startled yelp, she jumped to the side, shaking out her already rumpled fur.

"What was that?" She hissed. She was already on edge - the noises from the dead forest were getting more concerning every day. The last thing she needed was a jump scare from her sister while they were spying on it.

"I knew that smell was familiar!" Smoke wagged her tail, pointing with her snout towards the woods. "They smell like you!!"

"Me?" She could feel her fur rising again, and she tried to lay it flat. "What are you talking about?"

"Exactly what it sounds like." Her sister grinned, teeth glinting like the snow beneath them. Moon stared at her. They were like her? Cats like her were conspiring against them?

Claws digging into the snow, Moon didn't try to stop her fur from bushing out. This only made things so much worse. They didn't even know what was lurking in those woods, apart from those horrible sounds at night. And now there were cats aiding them? Or... those horrible noises were cats?

Moon shuddered. Either way, it spelled out all sorts of bad news. They didn't sound like much of a threat to all of them as a whole, comparing herself to the rest of her family, but there could be any number of cats in there. What if they tried to overwhelm them? Or what if they just wanted her? And on the off chance they weren't evil, what if the pack kicked her out, and sent her to live with her own kind? Even if they were evil, they might just use that to exile her!

Smoke whacked her with her tail again. "Hello? I'm talking to you."

Moon clenched her claws tighter, looking back up at her. "Sorry... sorry. I just... this is kind of even worse than just a bunch of weird creatures lurking in there."

"Or ghosts." Smoke chirped. She continued on before Moon could roll her eyes. "But isn't this a good thing? If it's just a bunch of cats crawling around screaming at night, there's not really any danger. And you could make friends with them!"

Moon must have had a look on her face, because then she followed up with, "Or we could eat them."

"I'm not saying you should eat anybody." Moon swept her tail back and forth across the snow, claws still flexing unconsciously in the snow. "I just... I don't know. Whatever they're doing in there, it can't be good, can it? I just..." She sighed, shoulders drooping.

"I don't like it."

"Aww, c'mere." Smoke swept her up, touching her nose to the top of her head. "You worry too much. This is a good thing, I promise. Just a bunch of cats? No ghosts? Or, ah, beasts or whatever you thought it was. The pack's gonna be fine now." She eyed her for a moment. Moon looked away.

"And you're gonna be fine, too. You hear me?"

Moon looked at her briefly, sighing. "Alright, whatever. Can we just go home?"

Smoke looked like she was going to disagree for a moment, snout scrunched up in displeasure. But she relented, tail drooping slightly.

"Alright, alright. I'm starving, anyway."

Her sister started loping back into their woods, with its pretty green pines, and no leafless trees concealing hidden dangers, or haunting screams, or mysterious cats. She began trotting after her sister, but a small gust of wind made its way through her fur, and she paused for a moment, looking back.

Staring into those old dead trees, she shuddered. Maybe ghost stories and mystery cats weren't even the worst of their troubles.
