Not a soul forewarned me of this sorrow,
The sorrow that crept internally and began to disembogue,
To watch the other you beloved walk away in morrow,
Knowing well the emotions played will end like a bezique,

Revenge takes its toll for my mind is vain,
Day-to-day I ache and grow more like glyceraldehyde,
But these emotions I am held captive to force to contain,
I now take it week by week and walk the tiled underearth with false pride,

Eventually that false pride morphs into self-satisfaction,

That glyceraldehyde gains its colours and rules the day again,
I once again am painted by the color as an illustration,
The masterpiece once created by two lovers shed away like snakeskin,

With the light nights bounds a mixture of confidence,
With dark days spreading like a plague resembles remembrance.

They did not believe the words she had said,
that what had happened had not been her fault,
instead they sent her away,
rejected and alone.

Am I a curse?
the young cat wonders
I am different than the others,
but does that make me a burden?

The weight of the truth resting on her shoulders,
Is she destined to be alone?
A curse to anyone who meets her?
Or is her future among others who will listen to her words?
Would anyone believe the truth?
Or would they seek revenge for crimes that were not her own?

Rejected, unwanted, refused
The taunts and laughter haunted her
Were they in her own mind,
or in the wind among the trees?

Born with different colored eyes,
seeming to symbolize something unknown,
and receiving visions in her dreams

There was nothing she could do to prevent the accident
She had tried to warn them,
no one had listened.
"Crazy," they had said,
"Those are dreams, not visions"
"You are too young, you do not know what you speak."

Then her words were turned back on her,
"Why didn't you do something?"
"You knew what would happen, you should have stopped it"
And then the other words of
"Maybe you wanted this to happen"
"When no one listened, you made it come true"
"This wasn't a vision, it was your plan all along"

A gift or a curse?
Was she destined to walk alone?

Now she heads away,
leaving behind all she has ever known
Danger awaits her,
a journey ahead of her,
but she could overcome it.
She had to.

In another place,
the trees whisper different words,
"Shadowstep! Shadowstep!"
"The future rests in your paws"
"Let your voice be true"
"And your heart guide you"
"One day they will hear you"
"One day they will see the truth"
"For now you leave your past behind"
"A journey, and better future, lies ahead"

Fire finds me, burning across my neck.
