The moon was not an uncommon sight in the Abyss. The world was in a constant spell of nightfall, with little light to be found throughout the world save for a few glowing fauna and the moon's own eerily green glow. Tonight, however, was special. As Wolfmoon bounded up the rocky cliffside, his steps sure and quick, as he approached the Moon Dragon's lair. The beast only woke once every few centuries, to stretch her wings and fly directly into the moon, absorbing it's power for herself.

Wolfmoon had been there to witness the event five times in the past, and not only found it to be a breathtaking sight, but observed that the Dragon often returned with various gems and artifacts. The treasure would be clenched within her jaws, or in the grasp of her claws; almost all of which Wolfmoon would steal, long after she settled back down for rest. It was a dangerous job, considering how heightened the dragon's senses were, but the gems proved to be invaluable in the progression of the Tribe.

When he finally reached the peak of the mountain, which overlooked the massive cave the Moon Dragon had carved out for herself long ago, he was delighted to find her already stirring from her slumber. The tendrils of her whiskers floated around her like a halo, and the scales along her spine rippled as she breathed. In the height of her power, the creature shined bright like a star, with a green glow almost rivalling the brightness of the moon. But now, with the reserves of her power wearing thin, her scales were a dark inky black that reminded Wolfmoon of the night sky, or the dead of space.

After rustling about in her sleep for a long moment, the Moon Dragon peaked an eye open, huffing in frustration at her own inability to get comfortable. Her eyes cracked open further as she set her sight on the moon, tail flicking in thought as she stared. Wolfmoon found it funny that she always seemed to ponder over the moon, as if it were an old friend to her, or maybe even her birthplace.
"Then again.. Could anything be 'born' in the Abyss?" Wolfmoon thought, "Or did she wake up here one day, like the rest of us?"

The cat's thoughts were interrupted by the Dragon stretching her long limbs and crawling from her cave. It was time. He prepared himself to begin the climb down to her cave, where in her absence he would search for other treasures he may have missed. He watched as the moon dragon unfurled her wings and shot off, beginning her race to the moon, before he too began his race to her cave.

And there, among the golden sands of Altan was a singular, wandering soul. Or perhaps, they weren't such. Perhaps, they knew exactly where they were going. One might wonder why a lone creature would be out among such dreadful conditions, away from the safe haven. Out there, especially among times these, a simple mishap could be the deciding factor between life or death. But when it came to times such as these...was there really time to consider the dangers? Did one even have a choice? All of one's questions would be answered in time.
XXXX"My home, at lassst." A voice spoke into the darkness. Ahead was a mass of ruins, which had laid untouched for many, many moons. But alas, a singular piece seemed to remain intact despite the destruction. A large stone. Symbols were carved into it, along with varying images. The feline approached it carefully, gingerly using a paw to clear away some of the sand surrounding the stone. After settling down in front of it, the feline raised her head, a various set of meows and yowls sounding from her. A chant of sorts.

And then, it was abruptly quiet. Moment after moment as the sounds echoed into the distance, it was as if the very realm was holding its breath. And then something shattered the silence. The whirlwind of feathers, the beats of wings thrashing overhead. A series of shrieks was quick to follow, perhaps the same cries of the cat. A smile slowly creeped upon the feline's face, as the bird landed upon her shoulder. "My dear, you have made it. Have you brought the herbs?"
XXXXThe feathered creature set a pail down in front of the molly, then presented her with a pouch. "As alwaysss. You will be looked down upon with gratitude." She murmured, placing the herbs within the water. Using one of the herbs from the pouch, the feline began to stir the mixture together, a toothy grin now visible upon her.

And then the air seemed to take on an eerie presence. The wind seemed to grow stronger, overwhelmingly so. And then, the stone spoke. "Who has summoned thee?"
XXXXThe face of a feline ever so slowly broke away from the stone, a transparent figure who gazed down at the molly. "You." The voice seemed to echo about the lands, though there was clear recognition in the voice. "Truly, my dear. It is but our tradition." The spirit cat nodded after a long pause, before speaking. "Your loyalty is an honorable trait, yet I am no fool. What is it that you desire tonight?"

With a wicked grin, the molly glanced at her raven, before returning her attention to the ghostly feline. "I desire your recipe dear...the one you hid from me... The only thing you ever kept from me." (469/500)

"Ah, the full moon" Shatteredraven breathed the crisp night air, her tail swaying behind her as she gazed up at the moon.
"Do you call to me tonight, Star Clan?" she asked as she stepped up onto a rock, staring at the sky for a brief moment as an owl flew across the path of the moon, towards Star's Peak.
"Thank you for your answer" she purred and hopped off the rock, trotting through the darkened forest towards the very edge of the territory her clan called home. The trees started to thin until she was standing at the edge of a sheer cliff, like a cat had cut off the rest of the land and sent it tumbling into the dark waters below. Distantly, Shatteredraven heard the splashing of water against the rocks below, the wind rustling her fur as she settled down against the grass, her front paws hanging off the edge of the rocks.
"To my ancestors in the stars above, the cats of old that once walked the paths that I do now, what do you wish to tell me this night?" she whispered to the wind, closing her eyes and bowing her head. She listened to the wind, the waves hitting the rocks, and the distant sounds of the animals in the forest behind her until the smell of ginger and rain washed over her and she turned her head.
Behind her stood a broad and long furred cat, his clouded white eyes framed by his golden fur, stars dancing across his pelt. Shatteredraven rose to her paws and bowed her head.
"Stargazer Lionsnap" She greeted him respectfully, crossing one paw over her chest.
"Stargazer Shatteredraven" he returned the greeting, crossing a paw over his chest as well. "You may rise" Shattered raven raised her head and looked into his eyes.
"What pleasure do I owe to be in the presence of my patron?" she asked and Lionsnap let out a heavy sigh, sitting down and lowering his head.
"they may be small, it's call strong. But do not turn a blind eye to the snap of a Kestrel" When Lionsnap uttered those words, Shatteredraven knew, she knew something was wrong, and she knew who he was speaking about. But when she opened her mouth to speak, she blinked, and Lionsnap was gone, leaving only a mark in the grass from where he had sat.
"Kesrelsnap..."

As the full moon rose in the sky, Shadow silently left the camp, her raven companion perched on her shoulder. Now was her chance, the perfect opportunity... She padded through the trees in the crisp night air, heading down the mountain towards the lake. Near the lake's edge, Shadow turned to her right and headed into the nearby trees. Among the evergreen trees was a large patch of forest plants. Approaching the plants, Shadow glanced around to make sure she had not been followed, carefully pushed the plants aside with a paw to reveal the entrance of a small tunnel, and stepped inside. Her raven let out a soft caw as she padded down the tunnel and Shadow glanced over at her companion with a grin. Eventually the tunnel grew wider, revealing a small cavern with a hole in the ceiling. A variety of crystals sat along the walls and near a pool of water in the middle of the room. The cavern glowed with the moonlight reflected from their surface.

Shadow's companion took flight from her shoulder with a caw, circled the room, and carefully landed on a crystal near the pool. The bird's gaze followed the healer as she approached the pool. It had been too long since she had visited last. Gazing at the water's surface, Shadow began to speak, her eyes alight with the crystal light and the anticipation of what was to come.

"Reveal the paths before me, the secrets of those of the present, past, and future. Let the stars guide our path tonight." With the final word of the phrase, Shadow raised a paw, and swiped the puddle, splashing water onto the crystal next to her. Her raven companion once again took flight, coming to perch next to Shadow's side. Together they gazed into the crystal. The crystal, previously reflecting the moonlight, now began to show foggy shapes.

As the image came into focus, Shadow saw two young cats laughing as they walked through a forest. The image became foggy and a new one came into focus. A large orange tabby gazed off in the distance as storm clouds gathered, a faint rumble of thunder echoing. The shapes once again changed. This time it was a kittypet with dark fur. The cat paused and gave one last glance behind her at a human house, the place she had once called home, before trotting forward into the forest with a determined look on her face. The image faded until the surface of the crystal once again only showed starlight.

Shadow's raven looked at her and the healer returned the bird's gaze. The identities of these cats, their location, and whether this was past, present, or future was unknown to her. She got to her paws and began to make her way back up the tunnel, her raven flying along behind her. As she exited the tunnel and the moon began to sink lower in the sky, she pondered this vision and its potential meaning.

Mālie is on her way to meet up with Hau, so together they can go off to sooth the restless souls in the care of Manu Koraka. Their job as Acolytes is to provide aid to their deities. Unlike many of the other Acolytes they work closely at the side of their deities much of the year, only occasionally being left to look after Flora Isle completely alone. Though Mālie is the Acolyte of the White Raven is it not uncommon for her to be found with the Black Raven instead, the twins often perch on whoever happens to be available at the time.
