Due to unexpected expenses making caring for this poor baby difficult, this whippet puppy was given to us to find a new home for them. They seem very sweet.

As her friend Shellza ( fake ) continues to ask her friends about their crushes, she comes closer and closer to asker Lavender her crush. Lavender is sweating and her mind is going off a million miles per hour, she's over-thinking the situation so much, it cringes her inside when she tells the story now. Lavender already knew no one had a crush on her so she rapidly tried to think of someone who was her age and could arguably be her crush.

She thought of a handsome dog named Calvin. Calvin was a tall and bulky collie ( Calvin doesn't exist). She got herself ready for when Shellza undoubtly would ask her who HER crush is. She watched as Shellza's eyes locked with hers and she opened her mouth to ask the dreaded question;

"Hey Lavender, who's your crush?" Shellza asked with a mocking tone and added "I bet no one likes you though, so why bother? your not pretty at all!" She turned away laughing. Lavender stared in horror as the rest of her friends joined in with Shellza. Her heartbeat raced as she sped off in the direction of her home. Since then she's never gotten close to Shellza. She hates her now.

Prompt - Darter was adopted around the same time Toffee, Atom, and Tadpole were born, so the four bonded quickly. One day, no one could think of anything fun to do when Atom suggested they tell each other their crushes. Of course, Atom went first, then Toffee, then Tadpole. Darter sat and thought for a while and then blurted out, "Hope!" She hadn't even thought of the name before she said it, and she wasn't sure if they were gonna be mad at her. Based on their crushes, they were all straight, so she had no confirmation that they weren't homophobic.

"Oh, cool!" Tadpole said without even taking note that it was different.

"In all honesty, Hope is really cute," Toffee added.

Darter sighed in relief and said, "Let's play something else now."

Prompt - Benji is...well...shy. He's reserved and not confident. He's not the type to completely isolate himself from every animal and every social situation, but rather tries to work on his confidence bit by bit. Of course for Benji, it's time that matters, and he takes his time. He almost 'tricks' himself into thinking he will get somewhere after every uncommon social interaction he attempts to take, which is true. Though sometimes he panics and makes a fool of himself, and contemplates whether to hide in order to avoid going to doggy daycare. As a Whippet, along with the other Greyhounds and Whippets, he's among the fastest of the dogs. You might think he's in one of the most exciting times of doggy daycare, the Annual Sprint Challenge, along with the Annual Frisbee Challenge and the Annual Swimmies Challenge, but he stumbles on himself whenever he runs, so every Greyhound and Whippet is seen racing and Benji is on the guidelines. One time, he decided to sit with a big group of dogs that are known by everyone, and he expected to be ignored completely. Unexpectedly, they asked him who is crush was. Now, for Benji, his crush wasn't at doggy daycare. She had already graduated and is now an adult. Her name is Lana, a red Husky. He stuttered and said he doesn't have a crush here, and continued saying they won't know her. They peer pressured him on, and he didn't like the group since they make fun of dogs who aren't popular. He left without a word. The 'leader' of the group was not annoyed, but replied with "Oh, I see! You're not confident enough to reveal who she is!" These words bothered Benji, but he quickly reminded himself that they're not the main reason of life. Benji has joined a group he had a small acquaintance with, and he thoroughly enjoys it! He has also gained confidence so he is much more satisfied with himself.

Badger had never really had a "crush" on anyone before. He had thought others were pretty or cute or handsome or some other compliment, but never liked them like that. He didn't know how his two friends had even gotten on the topic of crushes. He had tuned them out about five minutes prior since he wasn't interested in what they'd been talking about. He had instead been focusing on some animal in the distance, a rabbit most likely. But once he heard the word "crush" his mind immediately snapped back to his friends.
"Yeah, you know the white German Shepherd down the road? Marshmallow? I think she's really pretty, especially when the sun hits her fur just the right way." Mouse chuckled, and so did Bear. Badger wasn't shocked Bear had a crush on Marshmallow. She was pretty and looked out for the strays. Though she wasn't really Badger's type. What was his type? He had no clue. But he supposed she wasn't his if he didn't like her. Mouse offered to go next, thankfully. Badger didn't want to speak, but he knew his friends would've been able to force him to. They always do.
"My housemate? Curls? I like him. He's a few years older than me but I do love him a lot. We always look out for each other and I cause the mischief he can't cause because of his leg and eye." Badger had met Curls a couple of times when he and Mouse were in their yard. He was nice. He could see why Mouse liked him.
"Badger?" Mouse had asked him. "Do you have a crush on anyone?"
Badger composed himself before responding.
"No. Maybe I just haven't found the one yet. Though I don't care too much I suppose. I'm perfectly fine just hanging with you two forever."

The pets at Firelight crowded around the front porch as the sun lingered around the horizon. It was tradition for them to sit around and chat just before the day's end.

"Alexei," one of the cats admitted shyly. "Don't tell him, please?"

Aubin huffed a laugh. Everyone adored Alexei, but he doubted that the princely toyger even knew about his little fanclub.

Once the noise died down, Ditzy — a canine like him — prompted, "So, Aubin... Who's your crush?"

The whippet replied with an easy grin, "Yu."

A beat passed before Aubin noticed all the stares that got him.

Then: "Oh, Boreas," the hound realized. Hastily, he corrected, "No, I mean Yu—Yuki! You know, that pretty canine down the street. Ah, no offense to you, of course! Er... Ditzy."

The shocked expression on his housemate's face morphed into one of bewilderment, then relief, then amusement. If it had been any other predicament, Aubin would've made some silly comment about how that was the most expressive he'd ever seen the female canine, let alone in the span of a few seconds.

Ditzy barked out a laugh. "Oh, thank goodness. I wouldn't 've known how to reject you! Yuki's super nice, I can abide by that."

Aubin made a noise of agreement, making a mental note to himself: don't use nicknames in public—for now, possible disaster averted.
