Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

When Renly first arrived at our stables it became very clear, very quickly, that he loves to be the center of the attention, and he will stop at nothing to achieve that. He immediately went about enthralling everybody in the vicinity by being as loud and as dramatic as possible. Galloping all over the paddock, picking up a water pale and throwing it across the ground, knickering and snorting at the horses in neighboring fields. This went on for a couple of days, until he was sure that everyone knew he was there.
Even now he's always trying to impress everyone he meets; he wants to be the best at everything he does. This is great for when we show him because he puts all of himself into what he's doing but his stubborness is definitely frustrating sometimes but we've accepted it and have come to love this brazen side of him.

Prompt: Juicy is a sweet and quiet girl, but also a little timid in new situations, so when she arrived at Krasivi Farm it took 4 people to try to get her out of the trailer. She refused to come down the ramp, not knowing where she was or whole these strange people were. A little girl suddenly ran out of the barn and came over to see what the commotion was. She stroked Juicy's nose and said some sweet words, enough to relax her and coax Juicy to come down. The girl lead her into her stall and gently patted her side, telling her that she would have a wonderful home here. She left but retuned in a few hours to braid Juicy's mane and turn her out to the pasture. This new place was different and a little scary, but Juicy new she already had one friend and a lot of exciting days to come.

Lux arrived at White Tangerine Equine Retreat with a bang. It became clear the moment that the trailer pulled up with the mare that Lux was not happy. Lux was content with and loved her old home, she had friends there and many things she would miss (mostly conning treats out of unsuspecting bystanders). But being brought to a new home with strange smells was sadly out of her control. Lux made her discontent with the move abundantly known. Kicking in the trailer, pacing around once she was unloaded, moving away from anyone or anything trying to get close to her. The first few days were spent trying to settle Lux in but it was soon realized that she would not be adjusting to the move quickly but rather on her own timeline.

Time passed and Lux still was not adjusting to her new home. Drastic measures were discussed and considered amongst the staff at White Tangerine. The answer to everything Lux needed was Neptune. Before the staff had the chance to act on any of the measures from their discussions, Neptune had taken the initiative to befriend the newcomer. Lux was not receptive of Neptune at first as she did not want a new friend, she wanted her old ones. But there was something about Neptune’s calming personality that Lux enjoyed being around. Shortly after bonding with Neptune, Lux settled nicely into her new home here at White Tangerine.
