Before the catch and release

Vatani has always taken good care of their unique pelt, they often got compliments on the daily from clan mates that admired their beauty. How does Vatani take such good care of their luxurious pelt? Senshi had stolen a cat brush for Vatani from their old owners after noticing that Vatani’s tongue struggled to keep up with the daily routine.
Forever grateful for the warden, the Persian set out the next day to get Senshi’s favorite prey; fish. After finding a populated part of the river, the shaman dove right into the lukewarm water to retrieve an unsuspecting spawning fish. After retrieving the prey and tossing it to dry ground, Vatani began to feel a great heaviness throughout their body, they hadn’t thought about how much water their fur could hold. Once they managed to drag themselves to dry ground, the process of wringing themselves out began. The tedious process left Vatani distracted from what would be an event to forever change their life, the sound of footsteps approached the unsuspecting feline only to be met with a mech net.
The thrashing of Vatani had done nothing for them but leave their muscles burning after holding such weight, within 10 minutes the fight was knocked out of the medic. Vatani were transported into a crate and put inside a roaring monster. ‘Where are they taking me?’ Constantly echoed through their mind in panic.

The next thing this cat said to remember was a twoleg attempting to get them from the new safety of the crate before being put under anesthesia, while under, the Persian was shaved and tagged. Finding out this feline is a hermaphrodite, they decided to not proceed with any further procedure. This simple catch and release had turned into a monitoration, for the chip would always let them know where this feline’s location was at all times.
After cats began to notice the long missing of the medic, they had sent out a patrol of two cats to search for them. Mamoru and Corvus were sent out, the only sign of their beloved friend were the fish and signs of struggle embedded in the ground. Reporting back their findings had left the tribe worried, Azeroth himself had even gone out to make sure, asking his warden to join him as well.

While left in a groggy and lethargic state, Vatani was returned to where they were found; even with fish at their side. After a few minutes of gaining a sense of their surroundings and feeling 10x lighter, she saw the familiar faces of Azeroth and Senshi racing towards her in aid. They barely Recognized the shaved feline, only to know them by scent. They were quick to help the shaman to their paws and get back to camp, Vatani was met with looks of surprise and shock, almost feeling humiliated by these new looks. They retreated to their shared den with Moira and curled up in one of the vacant nests, luckily the motherly cat wasn’t busy and hunkered down to help her friend. Good thing fur grows back.

Prompt: Queenie also know as Queen owns her neighborhood. Her twolegs brush her fur every day and she does cat shows twice a month. Queen, when she's bored, likes to go into the forest with her fellow prissy sidekicks and terrorize every rouge cats living there. But she HATES all the mud in grime so she watches while her minions do all the work, normally licking her paws and cleaning her fur even if it isn't dirty. Cats have tried to put her in her place but 'cause of all her fluff and minions they normally leave bleeding and bruised. She's also the scourge of her neighborhood when she's no busy with shows, brushing, and baths she sits on her fence post and threats every cat around in her neighborhood that if they don't bring her their treats she'll come to their housefolk and fight them. Normally, this is just an empty life but she's 'done it' once so everyone believes it, even her cronies. Nobody and I mean NOBODY ever messes with Queenie's fur and if they do, she won't feel forgiving, especially if her dirty cronies are in a fighting mood.

This was SO HARD. Thank you so much for entering all of you. but the win goes to chadlesbian. I love the story and the concept of the pinecone.

I want to give an RU to Faelyn for there beautiful writing. I just loved it even though it didn't quite fill out the prompt I'm not all to picky. the effort wins out in my book.
