When you're a member of a pirate crew, it's hard to keep in contact with your loved ones; you can only send letters if you're at a port, and even then there's no way of knowing how quickly they'll reach them. You might even end up getting back before it arrives, and even if you don't, attempting to get any sort of reply is a fool's errand, because there's no way of knowing where your ship will be on your route (and that's if it hasn't gone off course for any reason).
Luckily, the Scarlet Crew has Eilidh to help with those problems.
Eilidh is a demigod, the daughter of the god of love himself and a normal lioness. To say their love was explosive would be an understatement; it burned bright, and when it fell apart, its destruction was spectacular. As soon as Eilidh started showing signs of divine power, her father returned, whisking her away to raise her. She doesn't know what her mother thought, too young to even really remember her, but she likes to think her mother still thinks of her. Still, her father, despite the distance he kept before learning of her powers, does seem to care about her. In fact, he said she was the solution to his followers' prayers, and so she met the Scarlet Crew.
The task was easy: Eilidh would follow the prayers requesting her assistance, take the letters written, and deliver them to the intended recipient. It was generally romantic love, but not always; plenty of children and parents exchanged letters, sometimes even separated siblings, and there were plenty of good friends with a healthy, platonic love who wanted to remain in contact. It allowed Eilidh to travel, seeing plenty of places as she appeared to those who needed her. She got to meet so many new people and see so many connections be forged (and, on the rare occasion, had to be the barer of bad news and see relationships crumble).
And if she happened to stop on the White Cutlass a bit more frequently than necessary (or than she stopped at any other ship, if she was being honest) and stuck around to chat with a certain lioness, well, Eilidh wasn't hurting anyone by flirting a little, was she?

Oh my love, my love,
Your heart so broken long ago
Left you wonderin' where to go,
How could you move on?
Oh my love, my love,
He left you standing in the cold,
Just like the tragic tales of old,
How could you move on?
Could you ever move on?
There is a healing
Beyond that feeling.
It's a long hard road
And it's a heavy load
But you don't have to walk alone,
Oh my love.
Because life and love
Are more than just a fairytale.
And life and love
Are more than unreachable dreams.
They're for you.
And they're waiting.
So you can take your time
And I'll take mine
And we'll meet up at the end
When we're each ready to try love again.
Oh my love.
