No one is sure how Fennec Seals came to be, they were thought to be a myth for a long time whenever one was spotted but as time went on more and more began to surface until they established a healthy population. They are very weary of humans but also very curious and can usually be coaxed to come near with some food. Whilst the seals are not truly pets, they will come and visit their human daily for food and attention once a bond is established and can be trained.
Fennec Seals typically seem to live between 20-30 years, and their diet consists mainly of fish. They’re usually pretty small in size, maxing out around 50cm in length but there are several out there larger than that. They seem to cope well in any weather type, they shed their coat to suit their environment so their coat is usually longer and shaggier in the cold and shorter in the summer. They’ve been spotted on both beaches and in the artic seas.
Fennec Seals normally only breed about 3 times a year at most. Mother and father both raise the pups together and after the pups leave, they either stay together and have another litter or will separate to find another mate. They usually hunt alone but will gather in groups to rest along the shores, there’s rarely any fighting between any of them and they seem to enjoy being around others of their own kind.

·If a member of staff is rude to you then report it to the species owner, staff should always remain polite and respectful.

·Don’t make your own without an MYO ticket. This is a closed species. Any currently existing characters with a similar design is purely coincidental.

·Do not re-sell any fennec seals. If you no longer want your seal you must contact a member of staff on here, we can arrange for your seal to be re-adopted, you can gift out/re-adopt your seal if you like but let the species owner know so we don’t think it’s been stolen.
· Do not transfer design to another species
· Art theft will result in an instant ban.
