Cooking Mishap!: One time I had a couple mangos that were nearing the end of their life, so I found a recipe for mango cake.
All was going well until the smoke detector went off.
I rushed into the kitchen and my cake was literally ON FIRE in the oven!
Still not sure how it happened....but I opened the oven and smacked it with an oven mitt until it went out!
The mango cake was actually delicious! Just had to cut off the scorched sections 😅

Cooking Mishap!: one time I was making some pizza for me and my friend. While in the oven the pizza burned, but I thought we both like burnt pizza so I took a slice and she took a slice. I was a idiot not to realize that I forgot to take the pizza off of the tinfoil. All though I found it delicious but my friend clearly did not. I ate all the pizza, she didn’t want to do I said “more for me”. She kept telling me she was going to be sick, but I was the one that got sick.

Amore is a cook, not a baker. But still, when food is involved, Amore expects perfection in his craft. This is why he loathes to tell the story of his unfortunate ingredient mix-up- it's embarrassing!

He was preparing the batter for what was meant to be an amazing batch of chocolate chip cookies. Everything was going to plan- he had the ingredients all lined up and ready to be thrown into the mixing bowl. However, Amore had made a fatal mistake- he had grabbed the ingredients based on the container's look, instead of closely reading the label. Tragedy struck when Amore measured out and poured a tablespoon of vanilla extract into the batter. Instead of cleanly mixing in, the dough suddenly grew darker before turning... GREEN! He had grabbed green food coloring instead of vanilla, the dark vials looking strikingly similar. The batch still turned out alright after adding the actual vanilla extract, but Amore lacked the ingredients for another non-green batch and was forced to serve the green-colored cookies to his friends. They didn't mind, of course, but this incident haunts Amore to this day.

Cooking Mishap!: It was supposed to be the best spaghetti of all time! Only... well. The sugar got swapped with salt! But she learned from her mistake, using a bit more tomatoes, meat, and spices to try and even it out a bit. It didn't come out the best, but her family loved it all the same!

Cooking Mishap!: He was a part of a cooking lambicorn family. So when he was 4 he was trying to cook, but his dish was too extreme! Poor Chedah (cheddar at the time). Was trying to bake a 5 course turkey! He forgot the stuffing, and dropped 3 of the courses onto the floor. Dropped the cheese (cheddar cheese). He was not upset surprisingly, cause his family did not mind. And from that day on they called him Chedah because of the cheddar mishap.

Cassie looks at you with a glint of regret in her eye, and you have a feeling - no, you know - that this will be a long story. In her thick Italian accent and most fake wistful voice you could imagine, she begins;

"Ah, 'twas a solemn day for a chef as talented as I. My heart desired to make a pizza; a strong will that burnt like an ember inside of me. How could I resist?"

She mocked a deep sigh, pausing before continuing.

"Alas, that lovely dish was not to be. You must see, each of my sauces are kept in jars, neatly stacked upon each other in the cupboard, and, because I had been organizing them earlier, none were labelled. When I reached for the tomato sauce, the hot sauce was what I actually retrieved, and I was none the wiser. Call me a fool, I would accept that title. As you may predict, my mouth got quite a surprise when I bit into that marvelous, otherwise glorious pizza of mine. The clash of flavours was an utter catastrophe, and - and, I'm sorry, I just cannot continue, it's too heartwrenching!"

And with that, Cassie buried her head in her paws, throwing one of her drama queen crying fits.

"Not only that, but it was the hot sauce that I was going to trick my brother into eating later!"

I've gotten pretty good in the kitchen but I still have a hard time boiling water... That's why I stick to oven baking, mostly. When I was first learning I tried to boil water, but no matter what method I looked up and tried I couldn't get it to work. It just wouldn't get hot enough! So I just gave up and left it. Except, well, I forgot to turn the stove off...and when I came back a while later, the water still wasn't boiling. It was gone! Turns out I "burned" it-- it evaporated.
So now if I need to boil water, I just call someone else.
