Route Two of the Hawthorn Hooves Stable Event
You were up before the dawn, but you weren’t the only one, and, as the sun rose its sleepy head into the sky, the Search and Rescue group were ready to head out again. The group stumbled across - or, more accurately, into - a small creek, and, even more exciting, the tell-tale hoofprints in the thick mud.

Following the creek led you all to a small oasis, and, relaxing in the cool midday sun, some dozing, some sipping from the water, others just sitting, the second group of horses.

This is a Route Two horse! Remember you must first enter in the Route Two prompt before you enter for any horses listed as route one. You may only win two horses per route, excluding the horses listed as "Special," of which you may only win one total.

Does this horse know any of the horses from your stables from previous encounters? If so, describe/draw how they meet again, or describe/draw how they feel to be alone going to a new stable minimum of 150 words and/or a flat colored fullbody

Show Name: Keeping Time
Barn Name: Missy
Gender: Mare
Age: 5 years
Height: 16 hh
Halter: eye color!
Discipline: Show Jumping
Competition:
As soon as Missy had been brought back to the rest of the horses, she had noticed a familiar annoying face watching the group come back. Of course he had to be here. She tried her best to avoid the stallion's gaze and simply go where she was being led, but no! He just had to yell and whine and try to get her attention. Eventually she stopped and turned to talk to the obnoxious horse, stomping her hooves a little as she did.

"Oh my gosh!!! Missy!!!! It's so good to see you, I'm so glad you're safe!! I hope Hunter and his group was able to help get you all here and without any trouble!" Eclair exclaimed, touching noses with Missy before she had the chance to stop him. As Eclair began to prattle on again, Missy zoned out the best she could, making noises of agreement at appropriate times.

Jeez does this kid ever shut up? He was just like this when they first met too, it was horrid. It was her first show, and his first as well, and they were being warmed up at the same time. Of course their riders just had to stop and talk and let Eclair give Missy a headache. She needed quiet to focus and get herself ready for the task ahead, not some idiot youngling (in reality, she was only a year older than Eclair, but that didn't matter) talking her ears off! She was eventually able to get away from Eclair and get herself focused and ready for their run. And she did quite well in her opinion! But of course Eclair still did better, and she resented him for that.

Missy was brought back to the present but Eclair gently nudging Missy's shoulder with his nose, "I'm truly happy you're here and safe, Missy. I'm excited to possibly see you in the future." He actually looked… genuinely happy to see her. Maybe, and that's a big maybe, he didn't mean to be annoying. (336 words)

Show Name: Splattered Pot of Shadow's Ink
Barn Name: Ink
Gender: Mare
Age: 6 years
Height: 15.5 hands
Halter: artist's choice! Though, hopefully, silver hardware?
Discipline: lesson horse
Competition:

It was clear the new horse had no idea what she was doing. No sense of home. Nothing.

She tentatively walked out into the field, not knowing any other horse, the mare went to a place in the shade. The shade was nice. The tree helped cover her from the fact that she was not going back. No matter how much she wanted to.

No matter how much she longed for a sense of familiarity. But. It was a bad outlook for what the horse was wishing for. People had come up, she had let them pet her. Let them feed her. But this wasn't her barn.

These weren't her people. Ink missed her kids. She missed little Jacob and little Marielle. She used to let them ride her bareback, they gave her homemade treats -- which had tasted so good--. The horse let out something that sounded like a sigh. Oh how much she wanted to go back there.

But it seemed like she had to get used to this place. It was her new home now.

But there were more children here, they couldn't replace the ones that she had been with before, but.. they were so much like them. There was Aspen, the oldest, and then the littlest, Autumn. Ink felt herself caring more for the little ones every day. Until they filled the whole in her heart, and Ink felt at home once again.

Show Name: Diesel and Diamonds
Barn Name: Diesel
Gender: Mare
Age: 8
Height: 15h
Halter: artists choice
Discipline: barrels
Competition: BLUE - Stallion mentioned within story

As the trailer came to a halt, diesel became more anxious. Peering through the little slits in the trailer. She was able to see several nice paddocks and pastures. An overly sized working arena that was occupied by a few horses and riders. The easiness that had found a home within her gut faded a little as she saw just how happy some of the horses seemed. Maybe she would like it here.

The trailer door opened and Cassie stood there with a big grin on her face. “Hello there girl! Let’s get ya unloaded and introduced to the others!” Darn, that uneasy feeling came back.. she pinned her ears for a split second but released them as she didn’t want to start her new life in a bad attitude. Cassie gave a chuckle at the mares sudden change in thought. She unhooked her and led her out of the trailer.

Now fully unloaded diesel was able to take a better look at her new home. Hmm, it wasn’t as fancy as Hawthorn stables were. But for being a backwoods southern facility it wasn’t all that bad. As she walked to the side of the trailer, Cassie tied her up real quick. “Okay girl, we gotta get you cleaned a little up. Can’t be looking crazy on our first day can we?” Diesel gave a soft nicker, maybe this lady did know a thing or two. Getting a quick brush down and hair cleaned from debris. She switched her makeshift halter to a nice brand new one.

They came up to a pasture entrance. The mare spotted a group of horses standing off towards the left side. She could smell a stallion and several mare. She swiveled her ears behind her head and gave a huff. Oh great, just what she needed. Mare syndrome to add to the stress of trying to find her place within the new heard. Cassie chuckled again. “ it’ll be alright, just you wait. I’m sure there’s someone you’ll find interesting in that group” Cassie said with a wink. Diesel practically rolled her eyes. What in the world did that even mean.

Once finally inside the pasture Cassie gave out a loud holler calling the other horses in. They immediately responded and filed in. They all had quite the brave personality’s coming up to her and acting as if she was just a foal. She stomped and pawed the ground trying to establish dominance. It was no use, they all dismissed her and laughed together. One chestnut mare spoke up,” Who are you? Think your such an important horse do ya? All you are is a mismarked donkey!!” Her followers burst out with laughter with the mare.

Diesel reeled back appalled that they would even say such a thing. She pinned her ears flat against her skull. Closing her eyes to a slit,” Oh look at me, I’m just a dumb chestnut mare who bucks everyone off and can’t control my emotions!” Diesel spat back at her. The group all gasped at the mares statement. “ I can’t believe she just said that to cher” one whispered to the other. Diesel was quick to connect the dots and assume the mare who was so rude was named Cher.

Cher gave a fiery snort and charged diesel giving a loud shriek and teeth bared. Before she could make contact Cassie quickly took the end of the lead rope and started to swing at the charging mare yelling “Ha! Ha! Ha! Don’t you dare Cher get goin!” She quickly stopped her in her tracks. Almost giving it second thought the fiery mare gave a glare before turning and taking off towards the other side of the field. Her followers close on her heels.

Diesel looked at Cassie with dismay in her eyes and lowered her head. “Hey girl it’s okay, those resident horses don’t stick around for long unlike you. This is your home, they will eventually go back to theirs. Just try to get along okay?” She asked the mare. Diesel understood but was still visibly upset. “ oh cmon you haven’t met my favorite guy yet. Watch this” Cassie smiled and pulled her fingers to her lips. She let out a loud whistle three times and waited.

The mare perked her ears. She could here thundering hoof prints. Looking in the direction the sound came from she was able to spot a mostly white but blue marked horse thundering there way. Oh great she thought. Dropping her head and rolling her eyes, this was gonna go one of 2 ways. Either he was a know it all hard head of a stallion or was a super annoying outcast like herself.

As the stallion approached he gave a nicker and a stud like smile. “Well well well who do we have here? Little mis misfortune huh?” He gave with a sly grin. Diesel stood in her tracks. Wait a minute I know that voice... that voice from so long ago.

Following up from his hooves her gaze ran up to meet his. Eyes that so long ago gave comfort and home feeling. That smile that somehow always cheered her up no matter the situation. Could it really be? Her best friend from oh so long ago standing right in front of her once again? “Blue is that really you?” She said in disbelief. “The one and only” he snickered back to her.

She lifted her head and shook her neck giving a whinny. How could this be?! She thought. Her best friend who she thought she’d never see again. Standing before her in her new home! Cassie gave a big grin. She knew they’d recognize each other the moment they met again.

At the time when Cassie had adopted blue, she only had the funds to get him and not his best friend. She felt awful since they day and knew he was missing apart of his heart. Since they day she had actively searched for the mare to hopefully reunite them. So when she had spotted the mare in the round up from the crash she knew she had to come home with them somehow some way.

Unhooking diesel she laughed and said “get on you 2!!” Without hesitation the horses took off running at full speed side by side into wooded section of the pasture. They bucked and jumped as if nothing had changed and they were still yearlings. In their home pasture running about without a care in the world.

As they came to a stop they circled and both met muzzle to muzzle. Nuzzling the other with such affection. “I can’t believe it’s really you blue. I really thought I’d never see you again” diesel croaked talking to him. Sadness danced across her face at the thought of never seeing him again. He gave a soft nudge and warm smile “Hey darlin dont think that. I told ya no matter what I’d get back to you. No matter how far or for how long. I promised I’d find you and come back to you.”

They snuggled neck in neck. Pure happiness radiating from each other. Diesel was so full of happiness and joy being back with her lost love. And to think, she thought she’d be just as miserable if not worse at this new home. She now had something that no other stable or barn could replace. Her best friend, long time soul mate, and love.

[Yes I do realize that with having overo her and my boy blue cannot technically have children, BUT that doesn’t mean that they cannot be high school sweetheart lovers <3 they match so perfectly with odd markings!]

Barn Name: Flurry
Gender: Mare
Age: 4 years
Height: 15.3 hh
Halter: Surprise me! (Maybe something black and whiteish)
Discipline: Trail
Competition:
Emma got off of Prize and turned to stroke his face. "Go on now and make friends. I'm sure some of them could use a bit of comfort." She wandered off to the rest of the team to discuss the next plan of action.

Prize wandered around the creek and watched some of the horses from a distance.

"Prize?!" A distinct whinny came from the herd.

"Flurry?" Is that really you?" Prize quickly made his way over to the mare. "I haven't seen you in ages. How have you been? Besides the crash of course, I'm sure that was not the most enjoyable moment."

Flurry let out a small chuckle. "No, that was not fun, but I'm glad y'all found us. I feel that the weather is changing. The air is crisp and cold. Who knows what would have happened to us if you guys didn't find us." She shook her mane as if she was shivering from the thought. I'm glad you did. Anyways I've been good. How have you been? I haven't seen you since I could barely walk."

"You know, welcoming youngsters and such. Just living my best life in the fields. Life's been pretty good to me." He laughed. "Sometimes I forget how old I really am at times."

Flurry laughed along. "You are always full of energy, almost everyone forgets your age. Anyways, I'm glad I was able to see you Prize, it was kind of nice to hear your voice."

"Yes, it was nice to catch up with you. I wish you well in your future Flurry, maybe one day we will meet again." Prize watched as Flurry rejoined the rest of the herd. It was nice to see such a familiar face in a crowd of unfamiliar horses.

Nia spotted the black pintaloosa mare instantly, the pair had briefly encountered one another in passing on the last day of the local show and had started what could possibly be a half-decent friendship. Sadly the weather had shut that down when the heavens opened and turned everyone into some semblance of drowned rats within seconds. The show had been canceled not soon after, leaving some to simply leave right then and there while others waited for the chaos to pass then take their chance to leave carefully.

Neither mare knew they would be meeting again in the wake of such chaotic circumstances and yet when Nadeah caught a glimpse of someone familiar in that strange new place? It was as if they'd been friends for many long years.

"I can't say that I'm unhappy to see you here, I am a little amazed that it was my yard you ended up at of all places" Nadeah offered softly with soft amusement.

Quiet gentle greetings were exchanged between each other and the pair found it easy to simply fall into a routine with one another, spending time together after their reunion only seemed natural.

Age: 5yrs
Height: 16.2hh
Halter: Your choice
Discipline: Dressage

Pin practially jumped out of the trailer, glad to be out of that dreadful thing. She looked around the area, watching horses relax in the white pastures. None of them seemed familiar and she sighed, following the short human. Something tingled inside her heart, like it was hoping for something, someone. Pin took another survey of the area until she finally spotted him.

HOLY SMOKES

Pin stared in awe at the simple and elegant stallion who was in a nearby pasture. His coat almost matched the snow while he trudged through it. He was even cooler in person. When Pin was a small foal, she was raised by an old lady in her house. This meant pin practiactlly lived the life of a dog in her younger years. One of the things she'd do quite often was watch the big glowing box the lady called a TV. The most common thing they'ed watch were horse compitions, her owner's favorite being cross country (which Pin had tried and failed at). The one horse that always caught the filly's eye was a greying stallion that went by the name "Just a Classic". He was one of the few who always stuck out to her.

How she recognized him you ask? Well, Pin's owner continued to watch his shows with her on a laptop in her stall during Pin's resting periods, so Pin knew how his coat had changed.

Pin was thrown back into reality when the human tugged on her rope again. Pin blinked and noticed that the stallion was gone. With a sigh she followed the human again. Maybe she would see him later?
"Good Memory? What's That?"
