prompt: He isn't so much laughing at anything in particular as he is displaying a nervous tic. You see, Mapleflash is typically very timid and anxious, oftentimes pulling at his ears or plucking out his fur when he gets too nervous. However, upon noticing his harmful behaviors, suggested that Mapleflash try and get into another habit rather than pulling out his fur. Ergo, he ended up with the nervous tic of laughing whenever he feels incredibly anxious.

with a heart so broken and torn, in the midst of hopelessness and grief, she lost herself. sinking into a shadow too thick to see through, every night she would look up to the stars. a silent beg to her gods to save her. save her from the sorrow she was drowning in.

as a sign of mercy, of grace, beautifully feathered birds fluttered down from the heavenlies. they were kookaburras. laughing ones. heart dancing, it was only a matter of time for her to voice the laughter bubbling to the tip of her tongue.

it was a beautiful song, easy for even the most silent of ones to sing. such light-heartedness, something, she would cherish in her heart forever. in the depths of her soul, she knew that this was the song she was always meant to sing, to take up and spread to the ones whose hearts were too shattered to be mended.

in doing so, the broken bits and pieces of her heart were brought together and healed like new. no longer would she be that broken cat, she once was, but a spirited one. one that would face turmoil with her chin lifted high.

it was a symbol that laughter could heal a broken heart and how it really was the best medicine, a soul could ever create. it didn't matter where the laughter would come from. for even the smallest of creatures can take up the melody and create a symphony of joy to the hearts of many.
