On the floor of the bathroom, was a dead moth. However that very moth was one that Cecil had been looking for a specimen for ages, never quite expecting one to show up quite in a place like this. With a quick glance around their surroundings, they carefully placed it into their bag, careful to not damage its delicate wings and set on home.
The most important part, and risky part was going to be positioning the moth to be easily displayed, a step which took several days. Cecil was careful not to show their parents; they would throw it out, not realizing what loss it was to Cecil. But, once the step was over was the hardest part over.
In their closet, hidden from the world were preserved invertebrates of every kind. From beautiful butterflies to the creepiest centipedes, each frame contained what Cecil considered their works of art carefully preserving the fragile bodies. Hours among hours of work made a beautiful display case framed so every insect shone through the glass case. Carefully pinning the moth to a empty spot in one of the frames, they couldn’t help but take a minute to stare.
Their collection was for their eyes only, as Cecil couldn’t bear to imagine what would happen if anyone else would have found it. Still, it was peaceful for both Cecil and the insects they framed. Closing the closet, Cecil decided it was best not to disturb them any further.
