- The ?? gene is a brindle-like pattern found only in Australian Drovers that typically places this unusual pattern of white around the eyes and cheek bones, but has been seen in its most maximal form to stretch to the upper neck. Typically, this pattern in this minimal form is not much different to badger face, but it can be signified by its effects on the mane and forelock. ?? causes Australian Drovers not to grow a forelock or man and can be easily identified by the dark blue or indigo pigment in the eyes.
This gene is assumed to only express in its homozygous form and is therefore presumed to be safe to breed as it is not lethal
