Story: When I was little, I was obsessed with otters, like, over-a-dozen-otter-stuffed-animals obsessed, and honestly? I can't blame younger me. They're too precious. Anyway, my family was going on vacation to Missouri, and we were stopping at the St. Louis Zoo on the way. The only animal I really wanted to see was an otter, and I was so excited because there were signs in the parking lot with otters on them and everything. The hours pass, though, and no otters to be found. Finally we ask a zookeeper who informs us that the only otters are in a petting zoo kids area that we have to pay more to go in. I was so sad, but my mom paid the extra so just us two could see the otters, and possibly even pet one! Lo and behold, though, the otters weren't out that day. If I was sad before, at this point I was heartbroken. Eventually we have to leave to get to where we were staying, but basically my vacation was already ruined. So much for that, or so I thought.

The next morning, we're hanging out around the condo we're staying in, and my brother and dad rush in through the back door that leads to the backyard area yelling that I need to come outside. There, in the little stream that borders the yard, is a wild otter. It's just minding its own business, sitting on a rock, but I am flipping out. A real, wild otter, not even a tamed, zoo one! Of course, the otter only stuck around for a little while, but it made my entire year. I've never seen an otter since, and frankly, I didn't even expect to randomly see one in Missouri. It was an adorable miracle that I'll never forget.

Story: This was really recent. It was maybe a week ago. My family went to Julia's house to swim. She is our falconry mentor. Then our other falconry mentor came. He is resourceful. He has tons of birds. He also raises mice. He is a lot of fun. He comes over and he has a small plastic pet carrier. So what was in it? An opossum. It was only 5 months old and his brother got eaten by his owl, Boggs. We got to hold it and feed it. It was so cute!!!
We're a system. We will most often sign off with who's fronting.

Story:
My grandma has five chihuahuas (six at the time this happened). They're all very nice dogs but she lives in a small house so you can't get a break from them. My dad had dropped one of my brothers (not sure why the other wasn't there) and I off to stay there for the weekend.
To avoid having to share a bunk bed with my brother, I slept on the couch in my grandma's living room. I would be safe from the tiny dogs in a bed but they had stairs they used to get on the couch. Most of the dogs slept in my grandma's room but one of them prefers to stay with me when I'm there. Long story short, I ended up waking up early to a dog standing over me and licking my face. It was a little annoying but it was cute enough to make up for that!

    Story:
So over the past month my brother has taught my dog Mojo how to 'fist bump' with his nose which has developed into the tool running around bumping people's fists as often as possible because he think's everyone is a treat dispenser. It's so cute if not just a tad bit annoying generally except well. The other day he did it while my brother was holding one of those big dollar cans of tea, completing my brother's story of hubris, and leaving a hugeee mess for him to clean up.

Story:
Here is the story of my birth - as told by my mom

I was already late by 2 weeks. I was suppose to be out around the start of August but I decided that I should stay inside a bit more. The gynaecologist told my mom that if I don’t come out on this certain date, they have to go for c-section. Days went by and I still refused to leave. The morning before the c-section date, my mom headed into the hospital, I was coming out whether I like it or not. My mom had to fast and was placed on fluids. Now, it was a waiting game. Yeah, I still refused even up till then.

At this point, my mom had already went more than half a day without food or water and was starving (she was still on fluids tho). No signs of labour. My dad had tried his best to be supportive but he was hungry too so he went to the cafeteria and brought back a plate of chicken rice and ice milo. Seeing my dad eat and drink in front of her was pure torture and my mom had never felt so betrayed.

Her emotions sent her into labour.

Story:

I cannot sit here and not talk about the way I met my little disaster.

I remember it was around mid-August of last year; my aunt and my sister had walked to the gas station a few buildings away from the house to pick up an order we had made over the phone for dinner. I had stayed behind to make sure the beagles were let into the house with no trouble, and when they had returned they had a small black in white kitten with them. My aunt had saw him skittering around the gas station, trying to get inside I assume for some shelter and hopefully food. The poor thing was scraggy and skinny at best- but we were unsure if we should let him inside the house before we asked our uncle, so we set him up a small little bed in our garage for him to sleep in for the night. It wasn't until the afternoon of the next day that we decided that we should let him in- the feral cat population where I live is horrendous, and seeming as that the kitten was friendly we knew it was important that we at least take him in and see if we can find a home for him, rather than allow him to become just another stray and damage the bird populations.

We set up a small post on Facebook, and we had a few people interested, however that little nerd wiggled through the crack of my heart faster than anything had before- and I hadn't the heart to give him up. So, I scheduled a vet visit that Thursday, put him on flea and worm meds, and not even a year later, he's a 13 pound goofball who I wouldn't trade the world for <3

Story:
When you said small lamb, it reminded me of a story that was buried deep in my memories.

When I was a kid, we had a family friend who owned a bunch of sheep. One winter the temperature dropped below 25, and one of his ewes had twins in the middle of the night. She had shown no signs of labor and hadn't seemed off at all, so he didn't separate her. She escaped her stall, went into the woods and gave birth. Unfortunately, one of the lambs didn't make it. But the other, somehow managed to last through the night. They were premature, and the mother wasn't able to produce milk to care for the surviving baby. The owner was going out of town for a month for an unavoidable trip, so he asked if we would care for the lamb.

I remember so clearly how tiny he was curled up in a laundry basket surrounded by blankets. After a few days of excessive love and attention from me and my siblings, the little lamb (lovingly named Lamborghini) perked up and began to do lamb things, like running and skipping and flopping about. The funny thing that I remember about him, was when it was time to bottle feed him, we would call out and he would come tumbling over from across the yard and furiously headbutt any part of your leg or side he could get to. Once he was fed, he never failed to curl up against my legs and sleep for a good hour before he got up and was ready to play. (267)
