Name: Rayleigh
Name Meaning: Referring to the Rayleigh Scattering; this is the scattering of light particles without a change of wavelength across a medium. This is the scientific law that makes the sky look blue, when in fact it is actually clear of any color! The sunlight particles entering our atmosphere are scattered due to this, and we see blue due to the direction the particles are scattering. The opposite occurs near sunset, because the particles have changed the direction which they are scattered from, giving us a red hue instead! We can only see any light that has not been scattered in another direction, so as the sun rises we get the blue and as it sets, it is moving on the opposite end of the spectrum to our eyes.
