Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 1
Username: Northstar.
Buttermilk: Ghost
Prompt:

"You're not joking," Ghost deadpans. A duck is running free in a crowd of hooves and this heifer is not joking.  Her eyebrow twitches with annoyance.  She is not a duck wrangler nor has she ever been any type of bird catcher.  Honestly, she doesn't even like birds.  "Great. Fine," Ghost huffs.  She'd rather be in the middle of a zombie hoard...  With her hands tied behind her back... Literally on fire... than here..

"Here ducky, ducky, ducky," she calls grumpily.  Someone passes with a oversized chunk of bread and Ghost nicks a piece. She crumbles a trail on the ground. A real Grade-A "Karen" screeches orders on a megaphone as a pair of gangly kids try to hang her sign straight. The noise really grates on Ghost's nerves. Her teeth grind, her fists clench. Another screech and she's stomping across the path and borrowing Karen's megaphone.

Ghost scales the ladder, blows a long whistle through her fingers, and holds up the megaphone.

"Anyone see a loose duck?"

Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 1
Username: Yodel
Buttermilk: Alli
Prompt:
A sense of urgency was ignited in Alli when she heard about the duck on the run. Her first reaction was to go running after it, that was until she saw the rather large crowd sitting in front of her, blocking her view. She looked back and forth across the crowd, trying to find the best, least invasive way into it.

“Excuse me, sorry, pardon me” she kept repeating in the soft voice of hers. Alli tends to be quite a rather shy cow, but when it comes to her animal friends, even ones she hasn’t quite met yet, she has a sudden ability to push that all to the side.

“Uh, excuse me, have you happened to see a duck run through here?” she asked towards a few different bovines, pushing aside the anxiety she felt being around such a large amount of strangers. She quite liked the idea of going to the farmer’s market, and she hadn’t quite expected to be greeted with such a task as interacting with several strange cattle in a matter of several minutes. She kept reminding herself that this was for the good of the duck.

The duck had run off and who knew what could happen to it! The very thought chilled her to the bone, and so she pushed on, talking to any cow she could get the attention of.

Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 1
Username: Namida_☾
Buttermilk: Adalind
Prompt:
“That duck really ran into the crowd? Well, the crowd isn’t a problem for me, I will just ask around, that won’t be a big deal. If you can tell me where he ran away, Ill just start from there and begin to ask around there if anyone has seen him. I mean, someone must have seen him and he can’t have gotten that far away.“ Adalind added with a sweet smile: “I‘m sure the other people are also willing to help if I just ask them nicely, and maybe I’ll find my daughter Clara, she should be here somewhere too. She’ll help searching as well. But do you know if that duck has a favourite place somewhere? Maybe he went there. Or maybe he’s hungry and has gone to a booth where they sell food? I think I’ll go there first and ask if anyone has seen him.“
After she got her questions answered, Adalind quickly went off searching. She quickly made her way through the crowed with a lot of “Oh, I‘m sorry“ and “Excuse me, have you perhaps seen a duck?“. After some time of asking around with no luck she went back to the pound. “Maybe he’s lost. If I was lost in a big crowd, I‘d also go back to where I feel safe, so perhaps he went back to the pound.“

Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 1
Username: vanilla bean.
Buttermilk: bridgette
Prompt: Large crowds? They've never stopped Bridgette before! As soon as she saw that darn ducks little tail feathers waddling away, she dove in after them. Bridgette is quite warm and friendly, but she's just as determined. Anything she sets her mind to WILL get done, no matter how inconvenient or cumbersome it is. This can be a bit frustrating for anyone close to her, as her one track mindedness can (and has) gotten in the way of things such as parties, dinners, etc. If you want Bridgette to do something, you need to make it sound like a goal. The good news is with Bridgette on the case, she'll almost certainly be able to catch the pesky duck. If she isn't able to, she might have some life re-evaluating to do on her own time, as there hasn't been a valid challenge that she hasn't completed yet, and she's not about to start now.

Buttermilk: Mitsuki
Prompt: Mitsuki stared at Daffodil with a fiery look in her eyes. "So... you let a duck get away from you...?" She snickered before nodding. "Of course I'll help though, I'm always up for something that's not boring so let's hope this duck puts up a good chase. If anything, the large crowds might not be able to handle me!" She yelled over her shoulder as she began to stomp through the crowds making clicking noises with her mouth and going "Hey duck! Hey ducky duck! Get out here right now, you.. What did she call you? You dastardly duck!" Her tail lashed behind her as she shoved a few people to get a better look at some spots. She was, as usual, forgetting other people were.. actually people. Mitsuki huffed as she asked if people had seen the duck, beginning to become fed up with how much longer this was taking than she thought.

"Wow! Thank you all for your help! For all that hard work, I’ll give you all 6 sunflower seeds! There’s still no sign of this duck, but it’s day 2, and maybe we’ll have some better luck moving forward!”

Please check the main page for updates for sunflower seeds and to check out the second prompt!

Username: ♔Voltaire♔
Buttermilk: Soot
Prompt:
"Jeez, look at this mess! Of course I am going to help, who would I be if I didn't lend a helping hand? My mother always told me to treat others the way you'd want to be treated, and most of all, help others when I can. Sometimes you aren't int he greatest position to help those in need, and that's okay, but when I am doing well and feeling good, I do whatever I can to help everyone else feel happy too. You need help with those boxes> Here, let me take them from you, just show me where you want 'em stacked! If you want me to help you with cleaning up the feathers around the booths I can do that too, and I think I have some pair paintbrushes in the back of my car if you need new ones to repaint the stalls! I want to help in any way I can, so please don't hesitate to ask for my assistance!"

Daffy's Great Duck Hunt - Day 2 Open!

daffy’s great duck hunt - day 2
username: ptarmigan
buttermilk: buona!
prompt: "stick around and clean? with all these people?" she shook her head intensely and immediately took off after the muddy webbed footprints, glancing around with eyes squinted and tail swishing softly. the feathers were all scattered, presumably by the wind so she ignored them and kept her gaze on the footprints. they wandered off in all different directions which caused her face to scrunch in concentration. had the duck been so scared it just darted off in every which direction trying to escape the crowd? honestly, she wasn't sure she blamed him. even if he caused all this mess. preferring to be alone, buona continued to search for the duck and wandered further and further from the crowd. "i think he went this way!" she shouted, her gait steady as she took off toward a path of footprints littered with both feathers and droppings. she was now determined to find the duck since it had moved away from the large crowd and she felt less uncomfortable pursuing it. the poor thing was probably scared to death and she felt bad for it. the stand owners who let a single duck best them, though? no, they could clean it all up on their own. you would think at a farmer's market a single duck wouldn't be able to cause so much chaos.

Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 2
Username: sprig
Buttermilk: Evangeline
Prompt:
Having looked through the woods to no avail, Eva trudged back up the path and into the bustling streets once more. As she walked back towards the duck pond, she began to notice various booths were in shambles. She stopped by the Heartland Hootenanny booth. "What happened here??" Daisy Grace popped her head up from behind her booth, a disgruntled look on her face. "Some goose wandered through here and ripped up my booth! It came bowling through here like he owned the place, messing up all my stuff and throwing all my papers around!" Evangeline shook her head in disbelief. "Here, let me help you clean those up," she bent down to scoop up the various scattered pieces of paper. As she lifted a pile of them it revealed a set of footprints in the dirt. "Oh dear... I think I have to go!" Eva set the stack she had in her hands on the booth and took off running, all the while staring down at the ground following the foot prints away.

    Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 2
    Username: DarkestWerewolf
    Buttermilk: Aria
    Prompt:
Even after managing to catch the duck in her hands, the quicker had managed to slip right through and was already on its way to cause even more destruction. Aria was stunned into silence. She got up, dusted herself off and started off into a jog to continue chasing the duck. She turned a right corner and was met with destruction.

Booths were damaged and dirtied. The culprit? A familiar set of webbed-feet going around the booths were a tell-tale sign that our feathered friend had been there. Aria’s heart sank. She felt awful. The event had been in the works for ages and the booth owners took their time to set it up in the nicest way possible. Watching their hard work get damaged and dirtied made her heart wrench.

Thus, Aria decided to put a halt to the duck chase and help out with cleaning and fixing up the damaged booths, ignoring the faint quacks in the distance. She started off with the first booth, offering her help. They were gracious and said they could use some help cleaning and replacing a cloth that loomed over their booth. Aria smiled and got a rag to start the cleaning process.
