A lost treasure I shall forever seek
Lost to the sands of time, forever gone
I dig through the sand till my paws are weak
Digging and digging, always, on and on.
What one has lost no one can truly gain
For a mother is the most important
Treasure: but all mine can bring me is pain.
I am just trapped in this infinite hunt.

The lost treasure that I can't ever find
Hidden in this sand I must dig through.
Perhaps this endeavour is in my mind…
Will I ever get back what I pursue?
For my mother is my only treasure
But will I find her, or will I never?

I'm not sure when i lost myself.
Somewhere between my mother leaving me
and my father being non-existent, perhaps?
or maybe when i learned that the world
might not be as nice as others said?

I wander around, looking for the clues,
hoping one day to find you?
No that's too simple minded, isn't it?
I'm sorry to have bothered you.

I will carry on, down this path,
the one covered in the rose thorns and holes.
If you hear a cry for help,
just remember that i'm a lost cause to be left.

One day i will find me again,
but until then,
leave me be to fly in the wind
and float down the streams.
