A tornado tore through the territories, and a massive forest fire ran through ThunderClan. The cats who were able to escape alive fled. He lived life in a haze, he lived life just barely aware that they all hated him.
He knew he'd become different, he knew he'd become a burden.

As they travel from the lands ravaged by destruction to lands ripped apart by fire he feels even more like a ghost.
He does not know the names of most of the cats around him and he does not think they know his name.
They never ask and he never learns.

Hunting is difficult in the desert, but no one will do it for him and Haven adapts. He adapts to barely any water and barely any food and no idea who anyone is. He adapts to the smoke filling the sky and the stench of soot and the rain of embers.

Walking becomes easier, once his feet adjust to the burning sand and Haven begins to be able to pick out particular faces from the crowd. But it isn't until he's caught in a wildfire that he actually learns any names, and then its because the she-cat is shrieking the name of the kit he'd scooped up.

He remembers the kid's name and the mother's name and they remember his name, other cats say his name, sometimes.
He remembers theirs, sometimes.
It could be worse.
