Her friend is a small cat that likes to wander around the barn and follow around her horsie friends when Axel lets her out of the house during the day. When she lays down in the field, Moxie likes to climb onto her hindquarters and nap. Melody calms down much faster with the little ball of fur nearby and her loud purring, much like a therapy animal. When they take Melody out on trips without other horses, Moxie will often come as well to give her comfort. : )

Her best bud is Jasper, one of the barn dogs. He's a spunky little blue merle Australian Shepherd who thinks it's his job to herd everyone and everything. If anyone was ever up to the task of herding cats, it would be him.

Caramella finds his attentiveness and dedication charming, if a little misguided, and sometimes tries to guide horses, cattle and even humans in the right direction to help him out. Sometimes she'll pull the blankets off the high shelves in the stable for him to cuddle up on after a long day of minding everyone else's business, and early each morning he comes by to say hello, greeting her by touching noses.
