Silverkit doesn't enjoy getting her paws wet, so she doesn't have many things she'd even consider doing in the snow - but the one thing she does enjoy, and would jump into a snow hill to do, is simply chucking a pawful of snow into her brother's face. It's what he deserves. Not in a gentle "ha ha, got you!" way, but a full-blown smack-down "this is war" sort of way. That's just what siblings are like, I guess.

Raptorkit loves playing in the meadow, where the snow tends to pile higher up than in the forest. Here, she likes to tunnel through the snow with Cranekit and the apprentices. One of them will search for the rest as they tunnel down and hide in their little snow dens. When they're found, the kits will burst out of their snow dens, sending snow flying in every direction. It's a fun way to spend the day and forget about all the cold for a bit.

Applewillow's favorite thing to do in the snow is playing tag. When everyone in the clan was done with their duties, they would run off into the meadow to play. The only rule of the game is no running or creeping, you must hop through the snow to get away from or catch your clanmates. Applewillow might have been small but she was quick. She easily avoids any of the other cats that played... except for Brackentail. Being the biggest cat in the clan, he could cover a lot of distance in his hopping. He'll forever be her rival and they both look forward to when the snow falls.

"catch me if you can, Ashmask!"

A young apprentice giggled as he ran through the forest, followed by an older cat, leaving a pawprint trail behind.

"I'm you're mentor; you're meant to listen to me. Get back here, Icepaw!"

Icepaw just continued laughing, continuing on with his run. He darted through a snicket in the bushes and as he came through the other side, he was sliding, feeting not moving but he was. His mentor watched with wide eyes as the apprentice spun.

"Icepaw, listen carefully: don't move."

The apprentice looked up and as he stood up, he heard a cracking noise, quickly throwing himself back down.

"Help," he whispered, shaking in his spot as he heard more cracks.

"I'm coming to get you," his mentor shouted and as Ravenfrost stepped out, a loud crunch was heard.

"Get back, Ash," an unknown voice shouted as Icepaw was grabbed at the nape, getting dragged along.

Icepaw found himself laying in the snow a moment later, shaking as he tried to get himself up, staring at the tall she-cat who'd rescued him.

"Watch out next time," She laughed, knocking against Ashmask.

"I owe you one, Crow," Ashmask praised, before turning to Icepaw, "You know better than to be carelessly running through the woods. Plus, you've disturbed our friends."

His mentor turned towards Crow, shaking his head as he smiled down at him. "I'm sorry about my apprentice. He's never experience Leaf-bare before."

"Ah, the excitement of the first Leaf-bare. I remember that very same feeling. Everything was so familiar and so new," the she-cat chirped.

"I don't like it. Everything is cold and scary," Icepaw chimed in, shaking less with fear now and more with the cold as flakes of snow clung to his pelt.

The two older cats laughed. "Want to see something cool?" Crow asked Icepaw, looking down expectantly.

Icepaw nodded, following her through the forest as his mentor walked alongside him. They entered a clearing as Icepaw watched what was the lake with wide eyes, a clear glossy cover hiding away the water. He turned to look at Crow with wide eyes. "What-"

"This is what you were trapped on. Come look at this," Crow invited him over as she stamped down on the lake, a crunching noise was heard as Icepaw stumbled back. "Its ice, you'll only really find it in leaf-bare."

"I'm named after this?" the apprentice looked down at the ground before looking at his mentor who just nodded along.

Icepaw cautiously walked forward, looking at her paws that stamped on Lake that was crumbling. He followed suit and hit his paw down too, laughing at the crunch it made as he watched the cracks spread. "It's not safe to walk on but take a drink," She said nosing the cracks away, leaving a hole of exposed water.

Icepaw went and took a sip of the water, shivering as the coldness hit him. "its so cold but it tastes so good."

"Yeah," She laughed.

Icepaw spun around the look at his mentor with wide eyes that sparked. "Can you show me more of what's special about leaf-bare."

Ashmask laughed, nodding. "I suppose so. There is a lot though."

The apprentice skipped up towards his mentor, tail swaying. "I can't wait!"

"Stay back, you dirty rogues!" Cloverpaw yowled at the top of her lungs.

The snow fort was higher than any Whisperpaw had seen before, and Cloverpaw was perched on top gloriously. The apprentice grinned down from between the two parapets. Paths were carved, leading to various places, and tunnels that opened up into the front of the fort. It was truly glorious.

"Cloverpaw, what even is that?" Whisperpaw asked, condescendingly. "It looks like a pile of sludge."

"Excuse me, Whisperpaw. Clearly, you don't have the eye of an artist." Cloverpaw announced with a flounce. She would not let her art be insulted. "I guess we know who's the rogue now, don't we?" Cloverpaw taunted, with not a hint of hesitation in her voice.

"Oh, you're going to get it. You think you're so much better, just because you can build a stupid fort. Well, take this you little clan cat!" She yowled, crouching and springing into a flying leap, bowling Cloverpaw right off the top of the tower. The wrassled through the snow with restraint completely abandoned. Cloverpaw swatted at Whisperpaw, catching her in the nose a few times, and kicking out with her hind legs. Whisperpaw wrapped her front paws around Cloverpaw, and the pair rolled down the slope of the fort, taking out everything in their path, collapsing tunnels.

When they finally came to a stop, Cloverpaw sat up with a laugh, chuffing Whisperpaw over the ears. "That was the best one yet, Whisperpaw! Can you believe all the damage we did?" she asked incredulously. The pair looked back over the pummeled piles of snow, collapsed towers and all, before Whisperpaw looked sheepishly at Cloverpaw. "Sis, I think Tidepaw will be upset that we destroyed his fort. Again."

Cloverpaw gave her sister a bold look, puffing out her chest. "He should probably get used to it. They're clearly built to be destroyed. And, why would he build them out in the open if he didn't want us playing in them?"

"You know, I still think we have a different definition of playing than Tidepaw. He's not gonna be happy." Whisperpaw huffed, as she followed her haughty sister off towards the apprentice's den.

Be careful where you step when wandering through the snow as MothKit has been known to sleep in tunnels are the snow, peacefully dozing in camp only to yelp when stood on. A tragedy really, no-one can explain to the dejected and recently stood on MothKit that perhaps tunnelling under the snow isn't the best idea if she wants to remain untroden. Still during the winter without fail MothKit is found cozied up under a thin layer of snow. It just isn't possible to break her away from her favourite thing.
