Avala loves all the festivities celebrated at the pride’s end of the year. Her favorite part, however, are the trinkets. She herself often crafts them, and it brings her great joy to see the cubs, or adult lions for that matter, receive a symbol that is so important to the pride.

Avala is known in the pride for making beautiful items, and greatly enjoys making them. Her favorite things to make, however, are the cub trinkets. Avala loves the idea behind them, and loves that every member of the pride gets something so beautiful. She puts great care in each and every trinket she makes, putting weeks if not months into them, just to make sure that they are perfect.

She still remembers the day she got her trinket. The first celebration she was with the pride she got her trinket, as is normal with the pride. She was given a snowy owl, carefully carved out of wood and decorated with feathers from the bird. It even had little black markings scorched into it!

She still treasures her own trinket to this day, and it started her love for birds. She made several more birds, to keep the trinket bird company, and still collects bird feathers to add to her collection.

Prompt: Kamaria’s favorite holiday tradition is carriage rides! Most importantly Kamaria loves giving them out to the cubs.She loves hitching on the soft vine harness with sanded down quartz crystals interwoven in for the Midwinter Yule.K always pulls a softened down sandstone slab with a fluffy pelt on their that can hold up to four lions but 3 is normally the max for the few others that also gives out the fun carriage rides. Kamaria smiled as she blissfully remembered and felt a happy tremble surge through her body of excitement.

“I just love the midwinter yule! it’s my favorite holiday and just seeing everyone so happy even when it is super cold is the best part. I didn’t mind pulling a carriage granted you get tired after a while but just the cubs excited little calls when they see the beautiful lit trees in the frozen pride land can melt anyone’s hearts.Excuse me! I think this is my cue but if you want I can give you a tour!Especially since this is my favorite Holiday tradition.”K chuckled softly.

Kamaria got up and switched out with another lion, she attached the harness on and a necklace with a small lantern with fireflies and mistletoe around her neck.K flicked her tail gently and gestured to the carriage,“Come! Come! If you get cold their is a extra pelt on there so you can bundle up.”

A enormous smile and her eyes lit up as you joined her on her tour and bundled up in the pelt.As the mighty lioness started pulling her carriage forward, she felt a sharp chill blow through her thick pelt,“You ok for now back there? If it gets too bad we can turn around and head back.” She shouted over the wind whipping up more snow and plummeting temperatures.“It’s normally never this bad but still it is beautiful let’s get you to the lit oasis emblem, the tree is gorgeous!”

Kamaria continued pressing onward into the snow and saw the bleery lanterns whipping in the trees.She heard a ferocious snap and screeching of lions and a wailing little cub.K looked back and gave a reassuring smile to the guest behind her,“You don’t mind if we make a stop to help them out?”She bounded onwards into the direction of the snapping and started calling out names of her other carriage mates.Her ears perked up happily as she found them and saw the problem the carriages vines had snapped and just need a quick retie.She started to console the spooked pride members while retieing the carriage putting it back in tip top shape once again.

“All set! Let’s get to the Emblems and then we can enjoy the rest of the festival! How does that sound?”Kamaria chuckled and pulled the carriage alongside her friend before stopping her carriage.She told a few legends and tales hear and there about the tree and looked up into the beautiful twinkling lights.K soon started pulling again and took everyone back to enjoy the rest of the festival.

Prompt: Na'eemah has her own celebration that she made up to enjoy with the cubs and other Caretakers called Nighttide Caring. This celebration is meant to get the cubs to understand the importance of having others around them that care for them and they can care for. The first thing that the cubs do is go out and find things to make gifts out of for Giving Snow. They are encouraged to make multiple gifts but not required to. All of the cubs work together and help each other to put these gifts together. When Giving Snow comes around the cubs give their gifts to those that they want to show their appreciation to. And then the Caretakers give the cubs each a gift that they made and feel have a meaning to them that suits each cub.

Next the cubs will go out with the Caretakers to the hunting grounds and look for other animals to help. Of course the animals may try to run, but those that don't will get the help of the curious little cubs. None of these animals will be taken as prey and each animal they help will receive a scent marking from the cub rubbing its face on the animal to mark it as friend for the season. This is to teach the cubs that not everything in the pride is about hunting and fighting, it is about hope and life. To others lions this might seem weird, but the pride wants to be appreciative to the prey animals that help feed the pride. The entire pride acknowledges this scent marking and will help these animals that have this scent instead of hunting them.

Then the cubs tell everyone stories that they made up at the gathering before the pride goes to sleep on Giving Snow. While the stories can be as wild and outlandish as the cubs want, they are supposed to show some kind of caring, hope or love of life that shows the values of the pride. The Lorekeeper will retell these stories to younger cubs of the pride in future years. After each story the cubs will tell the pride what it is they are glad they have in their lives. Then they will say what they hope for their future which can include finding a mate, having a family, what they want to do after The Choosing, etc. The pride cheers for the cubs when they are all finished and then the pride goes to sleep.

Extra: Na'eemah decided to create Nighttide Caring because of her own lost litter of cubs in her previous pride. She wants to instill loving and positive values in other cubs just as she would have done for her own. Her greatest dream is to have her own family with cubs, but she sees all the pride as her family and the cubs of the pride as her own. The entire pride is supportive of her and wants the celebration she created to lead to great things and a brighter future for the entire pride, starting with the cubs.
