Story: The medicine cat shuddered upon the spotlight of her turn to tell a story, She liked the pressure and how the atmosphere caused her fur to stand up upon the center of her back. She gave a sneer grin before unsheathing her claws to set the mood, making herself look big by puffing up her fur and pulling her lips into a snarl. Cloud really wanted to pull off the scary tone with her appearance. "My Former clan would no longer even be considered a clan, the cats had tasted blood and were desperate to fulfill their want for more. The warriors were giant Tom's with the darkest tabby stripes and muscle raging beneath their skin, the sharpest claws which could shred through any cat's soft flesh and teeth ready to tear out the neck of any dog! I was only a small medicine cat apprentice while under the authority of that harsh corrupted clan, a isolated tiny scrawny kit. I Barely ate except when my leader was able to snag a mouse from her terrifying warriors. Even she couldn't tell them what to do, she was terrified and was a slave within her own clan. The cat's didn't have faith in Starclan and the warrior code had fell flat, holding no respect within the warriors den. But that was me and the leader's secret weapon! Even as a kit before I became a medicine cat apprentice, starclan had touched me with the tongues of my ancestors whispering me prophecies in my deepest night's sleep. My mother didn't believe me and fellow kits and warriors always laughed in my face when I told them about my dreams, they were convinced starclan abandoned us ages ago. Except my leader, she pulled me out of the nursery in the middle of the night to interrogate me, She was having the same dreams! The second i turned 6 moons, She pushed me in the medicine cat's den. The medicine cat no longer received dreams from Starclan, He had no faith in our ancestors and become a scrawny disgusting scarred up excuse for a prophetic cat due to starclan's abandonment. He didn't supply me with the knowledge I needed to be a help within the clan, instead starry cats would visit me in my dreams! They trained me! I'm guessing they were medicine cats of the ancient clans,They took very good care of me and everything I know I learned from them. Their presence was intimidating, some would even say spooky but they made me feel safe. They were my clan, my coping mechanism and soon enough. They sent me on a mission to create my own clan, picking out Dovewing and Butterscotch to help me. I guess my leader also had this same prophecy because she was eager to send me on my way, She made me a proper medicine cat right there in her den with Dovewing and Butterscotch as witness. She supplied us special survival training before we left and faked our death while we escaped the territory. That was the beginning of Chamomile court, and hehe the rest is history!"' The medicine cat cheered, clapping at her own story in excitement. Beaming a beautiful smile to the cat's around her. Her leader, Dovewing patting her on the back supportively and giving her a swift lick on the forehead to display her pride and fondness towards her beloved medicine cat.

Storyteller(s): Clinkernose
Story:
Once upon a near moon past, Clinkernose was fleeing for his life.

Scrambling over rubble and debris, he was a mere tail's length ahead of a rogue cluster craving blood. He had been on the run for days now, but his pursuers wouldn't let him rest. Then, a twitch of muscle. Clinkernose stumbled. Gritted--not good. His limbs were starting to freeze up in exhaustion; he buckles now, and he'll suffer worse than some sore legs. He needed a temporary haven.

Despite the blind night, he raced along rough roads. Dashed down dangerous alleys. Traversed tumbled tunnels. Suddenly, shadows broke and he was breathing air outside the Upstander 'city'. The rogues were still at his heels. His heels were sobbing, screaming for him to stop. He was getting desperate. Retching out every trick in the book, he curved, swivelled, swerved--all to feint away his relentless chasers. Without the ruins of buildings in the way, it was much easier. Finally, seething silhouettes left his blindspots and he was safe--

Slip.

Fall, fall, fall. Crunch, crash. Hiss. Clinkernose was suddenly on his side, damp cement rubbing his fur the wrong way. Wait, damp? Disoriented eyes tried flicking everywhere. Was... Was this one of the Bile Rivers? One of the Upstander watercourses that wrapped around the Horizon? He must have underestimated how much of the edges had eroded away since he was last here; at least he caught on an outcrop, made of the remnants of a broken bridge, just out of reach of the current. One step down and he would have been drinking acid...

There were eyes in the acid.

Clinkernose stayed very still. Stone still. Dead still. Yet, the eyes drew towards him. Rose out of the surface to reveal a beast. Rotting stench. Scales that scraped and creaked against each other. A ghastly snout of a thousand teeth, sharpened for its next meal. Him.

Clinkernose backed away in the slightest of shuffles until his back hit a wall. The beast kept growing from the polluted waters until it was truly towering over him. Glossy eyes seared through everything, as if it could already see the internal organs it intended to ingest. Or was it blind? Poison dripped from above and onto front paws and Clinkernose barely bit back the pain and fear.

Then, silhouettes crept atop the river's edge. Ah. Those were the rogues from before--he had been running from them for so long, he could recognise them like they were good friends. They glared around, unable to spot Clinkernose because of the camouflaged beast between them. They made small talk, but it soured by the second, probably arguing over who was at fault for losing sight of their victim. They were spitting and shoving now, causing a ruckus they were about to regret. The beast cocked its head around at them.

In one terrifyingly fluid motion, the beast silently snaked down the river before launching itself into the air. It came down with a splash and two unfortunate feline bodies in its jaws. The friends of said bodies bolted with a yelp. Satisfied with its two-in-one deal, the beast submerged back into its territory and vanished with only a ripple.

Clinkernose waited until he knew it wasn't returning before he clambered up to solid ground. Chuckled. He just got a two-in-one deal too. His enemies took care of each other! The last two things he ever wanted to see turned out to be the best things he could see in the moment. Sometimes, two wrongs do make a right--

Clinkernose paused when he heard a squeak. He turned to his listeners, Whisperpaw and Pigeonpounce hugging each other in their fright. Oh, right. He forgot they were both scaredy-cats. Too spooky?

He won't let anything stop him from finishing a story though, "...and that's how my front paws turned to stone!"
The apprentice's eyes somehow widened even more, "The Bile Waters turn you into stone...?"
"No, no. The acid just burnt me. I have a sickness that turns my muscles into stone when they try to repair."
"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that."
"Don't be, it's the truth."

Whisperpaw composed herself but Pigeonpounce was still curled into a shivering mess of fur, stuttering, "W-W-Was that a t-t-t-true s-story too?" Clinkernose grinned, shrugged, and started his stroll back to the settlement. It was a storyteller's job to change and challenge reality; they could decide if it was true for themselves.

After all, there was a part of that story that he didn't want to be true either.

Story: a soft red glow accents vivian's fur and thunder rumbles softly overhead as she begins her tale. "i couldn't've been more than twelve moons when this happened... suffice to say i was terrified. i had just managed to escape from a witches' house, but it was night time, and i could barely --"

"whats a witch? i -- wait a minute, at twelve moons old you were still living with those human -- oh."

vivian rolled her eyes. "as i was saying -- it was night time and i could barely see a thing." she fixed her gaze on honeyfoot. "witches are malevolent beings with connections to demons and evil sprits -- like cats of the dark forests."

"i was in a dense jungle, bramble thorns brushed against my pelt. i was so lost, i couldn't head back even if i wanted to. a flash of lightning illuminates the trees and i see the sillouette of a crooked nosed, robed figure -- gone in an instant. an eerie cackle echoes through the woods."

vivian scans her crowd and chuckles to herself; honeyfoot seemed to be listening intently.

"i waited there a few minutes more to see if i could spot it again. everything was dead silent and even the leaves wouldn't make a noise. i continue on my way, but before i could take another step, another cat, black as night, appears out of nowhere, managing to pin me down almost effortlessly. it raked me across the chest -- thats how i got this scar." vivian gestures to an area on her stomach that clearly wasn't marked.

"i was about to be killed when the witch comes out of the trees, snaps her fingers, and the cat goes running to her side."

"that was a really spooky story, vivian!" honeyfoot calls out, "was it true?"

vivian scoffs. "of course not -- witches aren't real."

just then, a loud clap of thunder booms above and it begins to pour, putting out the fire and leaving the two cats in darkness.

Spooky story time!
Username: talonpawthewarrior
Storyteller: pinepaw
story:

The apprentice shuffled his paws uncomfortably as all eyes were on him. "Well?" Bonafide prompted. The young to took a deep breath." Cats of all clans!" He began. "I come to this fire to tell a story of wonder, and i give you the legend of the moon's song." The spooky title did nothing to lighten the atmosphere. "They say that the scariest time is that of leaf-bare, with it's looming threat of starvation and death. But they would be wrong. The spookiest time is when the moon sings. It's voice is of anguish, it's tone of sorrow. It's chorus a sinister drone.

"The moon, being very much not alive cannot sing, but it's tune is still heard in these parts." Pinepaw mewed. "The creak of bare branches, the eerie drone of the crickets, the whip of the wind, the call of a raven. These are it's instruments. The moonlight glow is it's spotlight. Your nightmares it's stage.

"But the scariest part of the moon's song is that it can kill a cat, turn their minds inside out. Flip their souls upside down. Rot them to the core. It haunts us all. Most survive to the final note. As long as it doesn't get inside your mind. Never let it get to your head. " as he finished the story with his grim warning, the clearing broke into mews of approval. "Not so fast!" The stern mew made him freeze. Whipping around he saw his mother standing at the edge of the ring of light, cast by the fire. " you should be in camp, asleep. Why do you think you can just sneak out whenever you want? Come back to camp, now!"
Sadly pinepaw trudged back to camp, dreading the scolding he would get when he arrived...

Storyteller(s): Snowbird
Story: Snowbird flicks her tail in annoyance as several kits unknowingly destroyed the medicine cat den. Moss and herbs were everywhere, cobwebs were clinging to the kits paw pads. Snowbird appears from the shadows so that the kits can now see her. Mousekit and juniperkit jumped in surprise but laughed it off meanwhile Dawnkit furrowed her brow and hissed
"You scared us!"
Snowbird looked at the kits and shook her head.
"You kits should be more careful. Dont you know that the cat with no name is watching you?" Snowbird blurred.
"What are you talking about? Theres no cat without a name, even juniperkit has a name and hes lame!" Dawnkit meowed in protest though snowbird could see her body stiffen. Juniperpaw complained in the background but snowbird cut him off.
"You mean you dont know the story?" Snowbird gasps.
"Well then I must tell you immediatly before its....too late." Snowbird ushers the kits to where sick cats would be resting if there were any. Luckily for the clan no cat had been sick in moons.
As the kits settled into the nest snowbird thought hard about what she would tell them. An idea came to her.
"Ok now this is a spooky story, you think you kits can handle it?". The kits shook their heads furiously up and down. Snowbird looked to the ancesters dramatically.
"A long long time ago there was a cat with fur as dark as moonhigh when the ancesters dont shine. This cat was a nuisance to all his clanmates. He would constantly disobey the warrior code without remorse. The worst thing he ever did was steal naughty kits in the cover of the night." Snowbird looked back at the kits who were puffed up little fur balls with eyes the size of voles. It took a lot of concentration not to laugh or smile but remain as serious as possible.
"The worst part is that no cat could prove he was the one behined it because they didnt know his name! Instead a group of queens tried to confront him but when they tried he didnt say a word. He just stared at them in utter silence. Now every full moon he comes back in search of kits who cause trouble. No cat knows what happens to them, maybe he trains them to be like him, or maybe...HE EATS THEM!!!" Snowbird ended with a yell. Mousekit and juniperkit stared at her with their jaws on the floor and fur pricked to a point. Dawnkit however was trying to be tough.
"Thats n-not a tr-true storyyyy, if it w-w-was then the leader w-would have definitly ba-ba-banished him." Dawnkit meowed shakily.
Just then a dark figure appeared in the entrance of the tunnel. Creeping closer slowly, snowbird was the only one facing the direction of the opening Therefore she was the only one to see it. Snowbird's eyes opened wide to show her terror, could the cat with no name be real? The kits noticed her petrified expression and turned around.
"SCREEEEE" the kits jumped a full fox length into the air and scrambled out of the den using the back tunnel. The black figure stepped forward so that snowbird could now see who it was.
Brutus looked around confused
"Whots the matter with you lassies?" He asked.
Snowbird couldnt find the words to explain instead she began rolling with laughter.

Story: " One night, in camp, i was sleeping in my nest, and i heard a large bang. I was the only cat who had awoken from the loud noise. I peeked out of the warriors den. I saw a large mound sitting in the middle of the quarry.. it was moving. I was unsure about engaging with the thing. I crept towards it until i realized... it had fur, and the movement was breathing. I was real scared now, the large spooky animal then stopped breathing, and it was dead silent. So silent I could hear the silence. And then.... I see.... " She looks for a cat in the crowd. " Bonafide! I saw Bonafide starring down at me. He had something long in his paw, it glistened in the moonlight. it was... a twoleg loud stick! " The cats around the fire gasped and bonafide shoots Calicoleaf a death stare as she continues. " I then hide behind the large furry creature. I see a hole in it, he used the loud stick! I ran and ran and ran until i found a cat... hiding in a rose bush.. wiggling his arms... weirdly... he told me to ' Shut up and move along ' so i did. I went back to my camp and Bonafide had left. I couldn't sleep that night. I sat there, starring out of the cave at the dead animal. " She paused. " The next morning, the animal was gone and no one will believe me. " She sighed. " because it is fake. " Bonafide pads over to her. " Hehe.. "
