Don't cry wrote:A tear rolls down the tender cheek,
why would this happen, and why to me?

Animals bite,
words can sting,
loved ones can pass,
and bells fail to ring

Nothing ever goes to plan,
the world seems to be against,
your efforts thwarted at every turn
A break drifts farther out of reach,
You wonder if you even can.

Fear not, there is hope-
at least that's what they say.
Life seems hopeless
Challenges too daunting!

No single remedy for the thought exists,
but if seeking refuge, listen to this:

You are not alone.
There are those who love you.
Do not dwell in sorrow,
but rejoice in oppurtunity!

A tear-streaked face gazed once more at the enigma of words, before closing the dusty
book with a quiet thump. Basil's life had never been easy, but lately it had really gone
downhill. With the loss of their mother and abandonment by once-close friends, it was
all Basil could do to keep going. Just then, the pale bedroom door creaked open, and a
kalon peeked into the room.

"Basil! I had an idea for something fun we could do!" the voice caused them to raise
their lowered head. Tangled locks of hair hung over Basil's forehead. They frowned in the
direction of the visitor.

Recoiling slightly, the kalon in the door added, "Of course if you're not up to it,"

Basil glanced once more at the weathered pages of the book, and gave a great sigh.
Putting on their best smile, they replied, "Actually, I'd love to go, meet me downstairs
in 5?"

"That's wonderful! I'm so glad you're feeling better!" Basil's friend said ecstatically.
As the footsteps grew fainter, Basil thought about the words of the poem once more.

Do not dwell in sorrow,
but rejoice in opportunity!

Basil decided to give opportunity a try, and bounded out of the door and down the
staircase to meet their companion. There would be many more hardships to come, but
Basil was glad of the momentary joy. The importance of finding joy in everyday life
resonated with Basil, much to the benefit of themselves, and the family, friends,
-and strangers around them.

Suggestion?: Talk to someone! They should never feel the need to go through something on their own and it's never healthy to suffer in silence. Talking to some they trust can help them feel as though a little bit of the weight has been lifted from their chest and at the very least, someone else knows how they feel.

    Suggestion?:
Go outside for a small walk to a park or wooded area, bring a sketchbook. Sit under a tree, in a quieter part of said park and sketch something. Something you love, that makes you happy. Sketch your feelings, something to represent them so you can get it out in a quiet non verbal way. Remember to breathe, you are outside in the fresh air after all, it would do no harm to calm yourself little by little, so you can process everything little by little.

Suggestion?: I think Jade first needs to go for a nice cooling swim, followed by a lay down in long lush grass in the sun to dry off. This will cater for some natural healing. Then after some time, find her funniest friends and laugh until she is crying and her cheeks are hurting. Some natural healing and laughter are always best!

“Hey now, I know it's kind of rough. It's hard to focus, and you're behind on work. Take a deep breath. I think calming down would help first off-- you don't have to beat yourself up over this, Luka. You're allowed to relax, you're doing your best. Do you like sweets, or do you like fruit instead? Let me get you one. You look like you need the energy.”
    [...]
“Here you go, snack on this, you looked really tired so this might wake you up a bit. Anyways... Have you been getting enough sleep, too? This isn't the first I've seen you so worn out today.”
    [...]
“So, you can't rest well? You mentioned it's not like you can't sleep at all, you stay up because you're worried about your assignments... Hmm...
Maybe setting a latest maximum time you can stay up might help? You can't work well when you're really tired late at night, but I know it's hard to change drastically in a short time. What if you set your latest time at 2 AM, maybe? That's pretty late still, but it's better than when you went to bed last night.”
    [...]
“Yeah, the assignments. It's rough trying to focus when you work on them? I'm not sure how much I can help, it sounds like you might need to talk to the counselor for some professional advice and look more into this, since you've dealt with this for a long time, but, um... I'm kind of the same way. I'm not the best with managing it, but I tend to do better when I can really get a footing on my work, and then I can focus on it for a long time. Even if it's not part of the questions it asks, maybe try and write a few sentences summarizing the part of the subject related to the questions so you get on the right track mentally...? It's not as intimidating as starting with hammering out the main answers right away.
I'm not sure if we work the same way, I know if I take a break I get derailed badly, but taking breaks might work for you. Maybe a five minute break every twenty-five minutes? Some background noise or music could help, sometimes it's distracting, sometimes not.”
    [...]
“It's no problem. I'd definitely go to the counselor, but I'm glad I could help out.”

Jule should take time to themselves, rather than spending so much time with others. They need a day where they can do as they please without being guilt-tripped into giving their day away to others. Sappy movies that their friends say are 'unrealistic', giving into their sweet tooth for once rather than holding back, even singing their favorite song as if no one else is around.
A self care day all to themselves. Just to let out all those cooped up emotions, to give their mind a fresh start.

Suggestion?:
The young Kalon was collapsed on himself, in tears. That was how Storm found him, at least.

She sat down, reaching a paw out to the other Kalon and whispered, “Hello, can I help?”

“You probably can’t.”

“Hey, the least I can do is try!”

The Kalon lifted his head slightly, and smiled. His face was obscured by his ragged, tangled mane. “Sure, then try.”

Storm stood up, motioning for the other Kalon to follow. “Let’s get you somewhere quiet, first.”

They walked outside, and Storm turned towards a forest. The Kalon hesitated, and Storm said, “Don’t worry. There’s a picnic spot just inside.” Her “picnic spot” was made up of two old metal chairs and a crumbling brick wall in the middle of a clearing. She brushed aside the dead leaves covering everything, and motioned for the Kalon to sit.

Opening her backpack, Storm took out a small plastic bottle, with a wrapper showing a picture of a vanilla bean and flower. “Here’s a protein drink. I often don’t get the chance to eat full meals, so I carry these around with me. Just make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients, okay?”

The Kalon twisted open the cap. He sniffed it first, then took a small sip. “It’s good!”

“Glad to hear it. Feeling better yet?”

“I think I may just about be.” The Kalon smiled. “My name’s Simon, by the way. And yours?”

“I’m Storm. Nice to meet you, Simon!”
