Kalon Name: Kiana
Gender: female
Prompt Response:
The young Kalon walked towards the village, clutching her cloak closer to her body. Shadows fell like ink, dancing around under the pale moon providing little light. Kiana shivered, speeding up, before something caught her eye--a light, in the distance. She crouched down in the shadows, stalking towards it, before gasping. An unsuspecting faerie was trapped inside, and the light was coming from her. Her feeble attempts to break the trap hadn't worked, and she sat, tears running down her face.
"Oh no, you poor thing! Here, I'll help you out, stay still." The young kalon gently grabbed the lantern, fiddling with the clasp until it came undone. "Are you hurt? What's your name?" She cooed at the terrified creature, holding out a paw.
The faerie landed, before shaking her head. "Ah, you can't talk? That's alright! Can you lead me to your home, so I can take you there?"
The faerie nodded, pointing further into the woods. She shifted her wings and a soft chime sounded. Kiana looked up in awe. Small wisps flew throughout the forest, each glowing softly. They seemed to be trying to lead her somewhere. She placed the faerie on her head before following the wisps to a spring, filled with other faeries. Kiana smiled, before picking up the faerie and placing her in the spring. "There you go, little one. Stay safe, alright?"
Now, this isn't the first time this has happened--Kiana lives deep in the forest, where many mythical creatures live. Hunters try to capture them, and Kiana always finds them, freeing them and breaking the traps once they have found their way home. Sadly, faerie lamps are all too common, and once a faerie has been trapped, it has a limited time to escape its confines. Kiana knows this all too well--the lantern on her tail holds a faerie, one she got to too late. She continues to look for a way to safely free the faerie, all the while keeping the creatures in her forest safe.
