Is there a difference between piebald and skewbald?

a piebald horse is a black-based coat with any white patterning aka tobiano, overo, appaloosa, manchado etc etc
and a skewbald is any other kind of coat that isn't black-based aka bay, palomino, sable champagne etc with any white patterning.

I personally don't use piebald and skewbald to describe horse colours because I like to be specific in explaining their phenotypes c:
