Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off, which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Where do they want to visit this summer?;
》 Nia has been slowly planning her dream vacation since she was a teenager, the dream? She wanted to travel around the U.S and visit a list of important and popular arcades in each of which she was determined she would get a high score on at least one game! The idea was always simplified in her head, step one; she would likely rent a car, she was always tied on what kind, on one hand, she planned on driving on the coast a lot so some kind of convertible would be great but on the other hand a van of some sort would be comfortable and she could save money by sleeping in it. But that could always be decided later, step two, the most important one; her route, she would start at home, hit a couple of popular places she had somehow never been to in Seattle, WA; then off to Portland, OR; after that would be the long drive to San Francisco, CA; then the shorter drive to Los Angeles, CA; of course she would have to go to Las Vegas, NV during her trip; and then off to Phoenix, AZ; she heard of a plan in Dever, CO that she had to see; then she heard of another cool place in Des Moines, IA of all places; it would then be a jog over to Nashville, TN; and the last place she had on her list would be Houston, TX. However, her list is almost constantly changing and expanding as she is constantly researching new places to add to her list, some of her friends joke that if she ever makes up her mind to actually go on the trip then she'll never end up making her way back home cause she'll keep getting distracted by new places to visit.

Thalia pushed the thick undergrowth aside, blinking away the water that fell in her eyes. Her trained eyes scanned the forest floor, dancing over the abundance of plants growing. "There!" She crouched and extended a paw, brushing aside a couple of fallen leaves. But as she did so, Thalia paused, then sighed in disappointment. "Not quite..." Straightening back up, she reshouldered her pack and took in a deep, appreciative breath. The forest was always a few degrees cooler than the land outside of it, and a nice summer shower was just the icing on top. Her fur was already pretty much stuck down to her skin, her nose and paws smudged with dirt, but Thalia couldn't care less.

A bird called as she stepped over a couple of fallen branches, the sound blending perfectly with the quiet patter of raindrops. When everything was so fresh and clean like this, Thalia could swear that the forest smelled even more earthy and inviting than it usually did. A smile fixed to her face, Thalia scouted out a nice log to sit on and unpacked her picnic lunch, munching away absently as she became lost in her thoughts.

As a potions master, she spent a lot of time scouring the surrounding lands for ingredients and just generally appreciating the beauty of nature. The forest she was in now was beautiful and everything, but she'd been here so many times that it was starting to feel almost too familiar. The groves of fruit trees, wildly growing, the patches of medicinal herbs, the creek that babbled merrily along...they all felt like old friends. But just as with any good friends, Thalia wanted some excitement, too. What would it be like to travel outside of the lands she knew and loved? What kinds of new plants and ingredients could she find to experiment with?

Thalia finished her sandwich and sat for a while longer, closing her eyes. She'd always wanted to visit a jungle, somewhere lush and filled with life. She'd imagine there would be flowers of all shapes, sizes, and colors, plants sprouting from every possible surface. She'd read a book about a jungle in a faraway land, long ago, but the scenery described therein had always stayed with her in the back of her mind.Standing up and brushing the debris off of her fur, Thalia stretched and started on her hunt again, images of rainforest birds running through her mind. Perhaps it was time to plan a trip. [ 418 / 500 ]
