what is the first thing your kalon wants to do?
to be honest, the first thing on his mind was completing the nap that had been interrupted by the cruise crashing, but then he wanted more mimosas. why was it that boys, alcohol, and napping were the only things he was interested in on vacation? then again, half the fun of a vacation was having a reason to party, someone to party with, and energy to party. but maybe he should start with finding a party, as well. if he was lucky he could find someone to talk to and make friends with, maybe even flirt a little with. he had, after all, set his sights on shark. (though why was he so grumpy?) ah, he supposed everyone had flaws, besides, he was a mechanic and that was far more important than a grumpy attitude. seafoam cleared his throat and worked up his nerve as he walked toward the mechanic shop. with his ears bent against his head and his eyes lowered in bashfulness, seafoam approached the mechanic with a sly look on his face. “sooo.. need any help around here? i don’t have much else to do.” seafoam asked shark, with a small smile. “and maybe i can convince you to come partying later.”

Since he set foot on that cruise ship, all Pip had wanted was a chance to relax for a while. The ship’s suddenly engine troubles obviously seemed like they’d put an end to that, but as soon as he stepped out onto the sandy beaches and smelled the salty ocean breeze, Pip realized he may just get a break after all. He flopped down into the sand, breathing in the clean, fresh air. All he wanted to do right now was lay here. But no, what he needed to do was to find a nice shaded spot out here where could take a long nap, without the fear of getting terribly sunburnt and covered in sand (even more than he already was). First, though, he needed a snack and a cool drink. Pip stood up and dusted himself off, shaking the sand from his hair, before making his way back down to the dock. He trudged back onto the ship, reluctant to come inside out of the cool breeze and gentle birdsong of the island. He quickly found Brandy, bought himself a drink, and scurried back out onto the beach. Clearing out the limbs from a nearby tree, he leaned back against the trunk and closed his eyes, listening to the gentle crash of the waves on the shore.

what's the first thing they want to do on the island?
venita & rudy - chilin' | 356 words

venita stood with her feet in the ocean, letting the waves rush around her ankles as she took in the summer sun. she let out a sigh. though this wasn't how she expected her vacation to be, it was nice. it was truly nice.
the island reminded her of home, at first, but now that they'd been there for more than just a moment, it was easier to enjoy. it had its similarities, but the differences in the atmosphere of the people, the wildlife, and just the general vibe was so refreshing. so new. although it was usually hard for the stilted girl to do in any new situation, she was able to just... let go, and enjoy the peaceful world around her.
behind her, sitting on the sand, rudy was also taking it easy. venita looked back to him, watching as he stared out over the water, smiling to himself. "so..." she began, making him jump, "what're we going to do?"
a puzzled look crept across his face. "do?" he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. "i thought we were doing. like. y'know. chillin' on the beach?"
"oh. i guess we are. i just thought that we'd end up jumping right into something more... spontaneous and wild." ven stepped out of the rolling waves, the sand crunching with every step. she plopped down next to rudy, crossing her legs as she settled. "i figured you'd want to explore."
"nah, nah. we're probably gonna be stuck here for a while. the shark dude's the only mechanic, right? so it doesn't hurt to take our first day off to rest." rudy closed his eyes. "i do wanna venture around, but... how often do you get to find a quiet beach where you can just sit and do nothing?"
venita smiled. "huh. you have a point." to sit and do nothing. with rudy, she didn't expect it to be the case, but funnily enough, it was what they both wanted. to take in the ocean air, to catch some sun, to just be in the moment.
it was nice. it was truly nice.
