Personality wrote:Ladybird is a lonely cat who doesn’t understand how to make friends and because of her isolative upbringing, she can often be very insensitive. She never knows when to stop talking about a certain topic, often upsetting other cats who just think she is being mean, when in reality, she just doesn’t realise what she is doing, never having gotten the chance to socialise with other cats when she was a kit.
The she-cat is very flirtatious, often flirting with any cat around her age, whether they are apart of the clan or not. She just wants to understand the love that other cats feel for their mates that she never understood as the only cat she loved has vanished, being found nowhere. Despite her flirtatious nature, Ladybird is loyal to those who deserve it. When she loves a cat, she will do anything to protect them, even putting their life before her own. However, if a cat were to do something to break her trust, those cats better pray to starclan. Ladybird is a very vindictive cat and while make a cat regret hurting her, going as far as hurting the cats who hurt her and setting them up to fail.
Due to her life as a kittypet, she sometimes doesn’t have the energy or desire to go on patrols or hunting, instead she just wants other cats to wait on her. This demanding nature often gets her dismissed as purely ‘a kittypet in clan clothing’, some see her as not having what it takes to truly be a warrior. However, Ladybird’s heart and soul are in her life as a clan cat, even if she refused to change her name since she never knew if Ravenfrost would recognise her without her kittypet name.
History wrote:Ladybird spent the first 8 moons of her life alone, trapped in the house of a twoleg. She became very spoilt as she never had to do anything, everything was given to her. The she-cat never considered leaving the house and exploring the outside world.
However, when she was 8 moons, her twoleg brought home an injured tom. At first, the two cats did not get along, he didn’t like being trapped and she didn’t like sharing her space with a strange cat. Although, as time passed, she slowly started to accept him, asking more questions: “Where did you come from?”, “What’s the outside world like?”, etc.
As the duo spent more time together and grew closer, Ladybird began to feel more curious of the world outside, of the home that the tom, Ravenfrost, came from. She learnt about the clan, Thornclan, and the other cats who just got to be free. While Ravenfrost grew stronger, able to put a small amount of weight on his injured leg, he began to think about leaving. The idea of leaving became all that Ladybird thought about, desiring to be out and exploring the world with her first friend.
However, every time that Ladybird brought up leaving, the tom would just push her aside, tell her they’ll leave at a later date, because ‘he was tired’ or create some other excuse. One night, as Ladybird lay down in front of the window, snoozing peacefully, Ravenfrost left, leaving her alone. When she woke up in the morning, Ladybird was distraught over her first friend leaving her. So, she went after him, jumping out of the open window and running into the woods that surround her house.
It was half a moon later when Ladybird stumbled upon the clan and she was invited to the camp to demand to know why she was on their territory. When she explained who she was after, she was called a liar and treated like she was there to cause the clan harm. Ladybird begged the clan to let her join them, and with a ‘one wrong move’ warning, she was allowed to become an apprentice, but refused to take on a warrior name.
As she continued training, she found she would often fight with other cats who treated her like a pest more than a companion, especially Frostfall, then frostpaw, an apprenticed-aged cat who also knew Ravenfrost and was there when he ‘died’, so didn’t believe the ‘lies’ that the she-cat told.
While she never did gain the full trust of many cats of the clan, as she proved herself as a warrior, she did gain the respect of the cats of Thornclan and became a full warrior. However, her only goal is to find her lost friend who never made it back to the clan.

Two Birds: Ladybird and Ravenfrost
Two Birds on a wire wrote:A young she-cat ran around in the small enclosed space, jumping from object to object, using her claws to prevent herself from falling. A deep chuckle can be heard from behind as an older tom watches her play ‘warriors’.
“You’re getting the hang of it,” Ravenfrost chirps, as Ladybird continues to leap into the air and balance on narrow objects.
“I’m going to be as good as a warrior as you were when we get out of here,” Ladybird excitedly replies, continuing to practice. As she slows down her movement and trots over to the tom, Ladybird asks him: “Can you tell me the story of the clan cats again?”
Ravenfrost found himself unable to deny the young she-cat anything, often being reminded of his own kit, Eaglepaw, when he sees Ladybird. The young she-cat curls up against his side, looking up expectedly as Ravenfrost realises he doesn’t have a choice.
“In the forest, there are fierce cats who live together in one place, a clan. They have grown up and trained together, learning how to be one. The clan, Thornclan, do everything for themselves, whether that was hunting down food for each other or gathering herbs to help the sick and injured, or even fighting other cats that are a threat. These cats are some of the strongest fighters in the forest. But, they are a family and you better pray to starclan if you were to hurt someone in this family because you would be hunted down,” Ravenfrost recites the tale to the she-cat that he’s told many times before.
Ladybird laid down, with her full attention on the tom and the story that he told. Her tail swayed from side to side as her eyes shone brightly. “Can we go to your home? You’re not staying forever, right? You want to go home and I want to go with you,” the she-cat says quickly as she runs and jumps up to the window, gazing at the outside world.
After taking a deep breathe, Ladybird repeatedly slams her weight against the window, pushing it and clawing at it. There is a sigh from behind her as Ravenfrost curls back into his blanket. “We can’t go. We can’t get the window open,” He says dismissively, going into a slumber.
As the night begins, Ladybird finds herself staring outside of the window, watching as birds flew past it and balls of light sat down on the grass. She listened as birds hooted loudly and a breeze went through the trees, sending the branches bobbing.
Taking a deep breathe, Ladybird pushs again, and again, slamming her weight into the window until suddenly it swings open, and Ladybird finds herself taking in the fresh air that ruffles against her fur. “Ravenfrost, Ravenfrost I did it,” Ladybird squeals, turning to the tom, “We can go now.”
Ravenfrost lifts his head, yawning loudly. “Huh, oh. Sorry, Ladybird, I’m tired. We can go another night when we both have the strength.”
So, Ladybird waited patiently, staring out the open window, yearning to just jump but not wanting to just leave her friend. “Hey, Ravenfrost, can be go now?” The young she-cat asks the tom who was slowly wandering around the room, limping.
“The sky is overcast and I’m sorry but it’s not safe, we don’t want to be caught out in a storm,” Ravenfrost says, going over and taking a drink from the water provided by the twoleg.
As Ladybird watched the clear sky outside that Ravenfrost had refused to even look at, she came to a revelation. “You’re scared. It’s okay to be worried about leaving,” Ladybird says, turning around to look at the dark coloured tom.
“Nobody’s worried,” Ravenfrost replies, going back and lying down on his blanket.
The she-cat jumped down from where she was sat by the window, padding over to the resting point of her companion. “I know last time you were outside, you got seriously hurt,” says Ladybird, “but there’s nothing I won’t understand.”
Ladybird curled next to the tom. “We will stay together out there. I won’t let go.”
Ravenfrost simply nodded dismissively. “I will leave soon,” the tom says, going back to sleep.
Ladybird just sighed, watching the tom. “he’s just a liar,” she whispers to herself, thinking about the tales that she was told by the tom, “Does the clan even exist?”
Ladybird curls up by the window that night, thinking about all the fun they could be having being free. “Will we ever leave?” she asks him.
“I know you want to leave, I want to as well,” says Ravenfrost half-heartedly.
As Ladybird drifts off to sleep, the only thing running through her head is “Liar” as she thinks of the all the lies that the tom has told her, and so she tells him, loudly for once.
That morning, Ladybird wakes up to a slight breeze drifting over her fur as she looks over at Ravenfrost’s bed, ready to wake up the tom. But it’s empty and she’s alone. Ladybird runs around the room, looking for any signs of the tom, but there was none. She truly was alone again. He’s gone and he never took her with him. “He did it. He’s going home… just without me…” Ladybird whispers sadly, watching the forest from by the window. "Maybe it wasn't all lies."
