DAY FIVE
Username: vanilla bean.
Writing: It was near Valentines Day and Mulberry Meadows was alive with the hustle and bustle of festivities. Each year the farm hosted an event for the young riders to come in and have a celebration, as well as for the adults too- nobody was excluded. It was sort of like prom, but on Valentine's Day. It was often quite awkward for people to set up their own dates and such, so this provided the perfect way for everyone to have a great time without worrying about making their own plans. The dress was casual, the decoration was adorable, and the music was great! Everything you could possibly look for in a celebration- oh, and of course, good food.
Being located farther south, Mulberry Meadows was blessed with mild and balmy weather this year, allowing the event to be held outside. Violet herself was busy getting groomed for the celebration, for at the end of the event there was always a grand promenade. She'd have to be in tip top appearance for this, for how could she ever go out looking less than perfect? She loved the feeling of being shown off, her head held high, a fancy set of tack used instead of her typical dusty set. She knew that all eyes would be on her, and she took joy in knowing that she was one of the most prized tolters on the farm for her smooth gait.
As one of the stable hands groomed her today though, she noticed that she was getting out... paint? What on EARTH would they need paint for? She snorted, trying to catch the groomer's attention, letting her know that no, this is certainly not needed at all, you can go ahead and stop! To her dismay, she took no mind and took out a paintbrush, dipping it in. The color that emerged almost made Violet faint- it was bright pink!! Her ears went back immediately, but she knew better than to act out and let the girl cover her beautiful white fur with pink hearts. Oh, where was the humanity!
After she was done, she felt hopeless! What was a girl to do in a situation like this? She had no idea if it would wash off, and there was no way she'd risk smudging it and making it look even worse. Instead, she decided that if this was how they wanted to play, she'd play back. She went off to look for the location of the paint, ready to exact her revenge. She found it shortly after, and promptly knocked it onto the ground, and began to roll in it. She rolled and rolled until she was almost entirely covered in the bright pigment, even managing to get a decent amount on her face.
She knew she looked foolish, but at least this was her appearance by choice! As if by a miracle, nobody noticed until right before she came out, wonderfully smudging the pants of her rider, as well as gaining a large laugh from the audience, and lots of treats after the fact.
