Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,

Heartbreak is a difficult thing to identify. Which is strange,
because heartbreak is everywhere. It’s as if our society
glorifies and romanticizes feelings of unworthiness, pain,
and rejection. It’s not uncommon for people to have several
stories about tragedy, and the way their heart bent to the
will of its beholder. Ask anyone on the street, and tears
will threaten their dignity as they speak of ones they once
loved. This is normal, is what you’ll be told.
Heartbreak comes in many different forms, romantic
feelings the most common cause. However, a heart can be
broken by a person, a pet, a grade.. a word. Heartbreak
stems from anger, which most people don’t know. This
anger will cause you to do dangerous things, act irrationally,
and harm the people who care most. Symptoms of heartbreak
include the following: loneliness, love sickness, anger, irritability,
severe anxiety, trust issues, and depression.
Heartbreak is treatable. It’s almost impossible not to notice when
someone around you is shattered. You don’t need an X-ray of their
chest to know that their heart isn’t the way it used to be. So
please, let this person know that they have you when they need you.
Some common treatments of heartbreak include driving at night,
dancing in the living room, smelling flowers, and learning how
to trust yourself again. After heartbreak, the person often blames
themself heavily, and spirals into all the things that went wrong.
When this happens — because it will happen — touch them gently,
smile with all of the joy you have, and explain how wrong they are.
“If this person really loved you, they wouldn’t have left.”

extra. Nova carefully balanced the abstract painting neatly on the wall, pamphlets titled ‘emotions and why they’re there’ sat in a stack on the small table beside it. Nova watched as people began to pass the painting, looking at its details with curious eyes. Several paws grabbed a pamphlet, and several Kalons came back to ask if Nova had written it. They got much more praise from their depiction of heartbreak than they thought. Nova just hoped their words would be spread. Heartbreak is treatable.

Heartbreak is funny thing for Alexander. Maybe because he’s had his heart broken in the literal sense.
Too put it simply, never piss off a demigod.

Many speak his name, but think nothing of it. A metaphor maybe, simply a figure of speech. Nobody thinks much of this character their parents read about before bed as little kits, this lovable yet hateable figure painted in the light of both the hero and the villain.
Osiris, the god of heartbreak, holds a special place in the hearts of most kalons. They read about him as kits, they learned that he's one to both love and hate. He's the one they pray to before asking out that special someone, he's the one they pray to before proposing, he's the one they pray to when a loved one is lying in a hospital bed beside them. He's also the one whose name they curse when their special someone shoots them down, the name they scream in agony when their loved one slips from the land of the living to the land of the dead. He's the one they all praise until they don't. You love him until you hate him.
To Osiris, love is a game. He enjoys toying with it, seeing how far he can push those boundaries before they break. He likes to gauge how much happiness he'll grant based on the desperation of the prayers he receives. He finds heartbreak to be simply a symptom of something much bigger. Heartbreak doesn't come from nowhere, he only grants it where it's due. Love is all about fairness, in Osiris' eyes. He only lets the strongest of relationships live, and the weakest he leaves to fizzle out. He targets those casual, common relationships. He targets the relationships that maybe started too soon, or one with a couple secrets tucked away. He targets those with the potential to come tumbling down, and he plays with it until it either strengthens or shatters.
Heartbreak is inevitable. Heartbreak is just a bump in the road to happiness. Heartbreak is Osiris' job, and he does it well. Not everyone likes him, but nobody can say he's bad at what he does. He's not a bad guy, he's just a god with an agenda.
