"Oh, nonononono!"
Sagepaw fidgeted her front paws nervously as she looked down at what she had done. Was it okay? Of course it wasn't okay! The poor creature's wing wasn't even attached to its body! How could she have done this to such an innocent little moth? She had only been playing with it... The little bug had just seemed so lonely.
The apprentice knelt down, her head directly in front of the moth. She stared into the creature's large, honestly kind of creepy eyes, and saw... well, technically she just saw her own reflection, but she was sure there was some pain in there too. Moths felt pain, right?
Sagepaw bit her lip. There wasn't anything she could do for the moth. She had no idea what it ate, how it drank water, or how in the name of StarClan it used the Dirtplace. Plus, without its left wing, the creature would be snatched by a passing bird the moment she left it alone. Sagepaw sighed. There was only one thing she could do.
Sagepaw raised a paw and smacked the moth until she was sure that it was dead.
When she had put the innocent bug out of its misery, she ran back to the apprentice's den to bawl her eyes out. That moth had had a full, wonderful life ahead of it, and she had ruined it with a childish game.
