Ravenflurry crept through the undergrowth, eyes narrowed as a mission played through her head. Today she was going to scare this human child away, just so he stays away from the camp and the undergrowth they hunt in. Prey has deserted this side of the forest ever since the humans came for camping, and now she must scare the kid enough for it to run home and never come back. Opening her mouth to taste the air, she crept forward more, spotting the human child, plucking at some wildflowers growing in the meadow. His parents were nowhere to be seen.
She smirked, creeping forward again, moving so she was coming up behind the child, approaching the human child. Ever since she was a kit, she was taught about how bad humans were and what they could do to cats. They captured animals, keeping them trapped in cages and houses, never able to taste fresh air and kill a mouse for prey. They were forced to eat hard pellets and use a box of sand. That was a life she doubted anyone wanted, and she felt bad for all the house cats around the world, forced to live that lifestyle.
As she was leaping distance from the human child, he turned around, spotted her, and yowled out in excitement, pouncing on her and pulling it into her arms. She let out a threatening growl, hoping the kid would let her go, but he didn't. Instead, he ran a gentle hand down her back, petting her soft fur, careful not to press too hard on her scars, as if he thought it would hurt her. For a moment she was confused, this wasn't what she was taught about humans. They were angry, aggressive, and wanted to destroy all the forests. That was what she was taught, but it was wrong. This child was sweet and very affectionate, kissing her head and petting her softly.
She rubbed against his hand, nuzzled his leg, and let him pet her, even offering him her belly to rub. This was such a weird experience, this wasn't what she was taught. She heard a louder, deeper yowl and both she and the child looked up towards the sound source. As an older human approached, Ravenflurry got to her paws and disappeared into the undergrowth, unspotted by the humans. The kid followed his parents towards the camp, and that was the last time Ravenflurry saw the child, but it was enough to change her opinion on humans forever.
