Winterkit doesn't really believe love is for everyone, despite her being a kit. She sees how happy her parents, Cloudrunner and Whiteflame, are together but she doesn't think it's for her. Instead, Winterkit wants to become a popular apprentice with lots of friends and then a well-respected warrior who can be seen as an actual warrior instead of a she-cat with a mate who may end up having kits and family. While she respects cats who have these things, she believes she doesn't need them to be helpful for her clan, making her already a strong figure for other she-cats. Love is not a desire in her life. Strength, loyalty, and bravery are what she wants.

Prompt: snowbark is confused by love. She sees others falling in love and struggles to understand what they feel like or why it can change someone's actions and opinions. She can see that her mothers are in love, but since she's never fallen in love herself, she just can't comprehend how just seeing them can make your heart beat faster or how it just pulls your mouth into a smile. She likes the idea of it, and would be happy to be in love, but she'd frown and ask if she was even in love, or if she just liked the food they'd bring her more.

Java was out watching the sky again. His friends watched him with a slight mix of confusion and amusement as he said, in his usual wispy voice. "See... the color. That hue, between the sun and the sky? That is love."

Toothpick laid his head on his paws and blinked, staring out and trying to understand. The color was wafting from pinks, blue and purples as the sun set. He scoffed after a second, saying. "You know Java.. a fellow has a hard time understanding you, sometimes. Love's an idea, not a color."

"So poetic. A genuine romantic!" Came the dreamy sigh from Nova as she wiggled closer. She bopped Toothpick on the nose and said, with a bright laugh. "You should be more like him!"

"The laugh, it too is love." Java pointed out, turning to them with a smile. "More expressive of it, perhaps, than the love that's so often proclaimed by the lovers in stories. A simpler kind, and a truer one."

Love is something that you find when you're young, flourishing, and beautiful. But I'm just old, much older than you and all the other kits in the nursery, even if you were all combined!" She said with a taunting laugh. She then shook her head, looking back down at Viktor.

"Love is not wrong to find, but you shouldn't let it control your entire life. Many believe that you are born, find love, have kits, and die, then repeat the process. But love isn't all life is. You should allow love to be considered an asset, a gift. Not a necessity. That's why I'm not in love, I lived my life to the fullest in other aspects. I was too reckless for some tom to have reign over me." She said with another laugh.

In all honesty, Whitefang is quite confused by it. On one hand, he views love as being something that is joyful, comforting and just plain beautiful. On the other hand, he views it as being destructive, dangerous and a weakness for enemies to take advantage of. He just doesn't know what to think of it. That being said, the poor boy does get quite nervous and flustered when someone tries to flirt with him. Mainly because he doesn't know on how to respond, and generally becomes a nervous wreck. However, after seeing how his own clanmates react to love, it does make him secretly hope that he'll find someone of his own. Someone who will be able to look past his nervousness.

Iceleap has absolutely no interest in love, and he knows for a fact that that will never change. Most of the older cats claim that "you'll change your mind someday," but Iceleap is fiercely determined to prove them all wrong. He will live and die single, and he will be perfectly fine with that. His hope is that his life will serve as a statement to his Clanmates: older cats do not always know best, and no one can choose or predict another cat's future.

Moonstorm didn't think of love as all that great until she met Crowstar. Before that, she thought love as nothing but a bitter end just waiting to happen. She had seen it as a force that manipulated with cats and drove them mad. She had seen what it does to other cats. She despised it. However, after she joined the clan and met Crowstar, she felt... different. She fell head over heels for him, and she started feeling happier with just the thought of loving him. Her viewpoint changed- maybe love wasn't an awful feeling after all, and maybe she had a chance.
