Prompt;;Mothwhisker walked through the tall grass of the meadows, batting playfully at a frazzled strand now and again as he went along his way. The air was sweet with New Leaf, and the weather was cool enough to be pleasant if not just a bit nippy. Tail swishing and spirits high, the warrior felt that the day would be very good - very good indeed! It wasn't often he had a day to himself, after all, and he was going to make the most of it before Owlstar found another job for him to do.
As he walked, he couldn't help but notice that the once crisp air had started to grow heavier. Something seemed off, and even after spinning around to look, there didn't seem to be any danger - that was, until Mothwhisker turned back around and came face to face with the amber eyes of a very hungry fox.
"Mothwhisker," it purred, curling it's tail neatly around it's paws, "I come as a warning. I am going to eat you, one day. I will feast on you. Your clan will abandon you. I thought, however, that warning you ahead of time would insure that the following hunt is more exciting. It has been a terribly long time since I've eaten a cat," the fox's tongue darted across it's teeth, and it gave a playful grin; however, several cat voices sprung up, and the fox got to it's feet, ears pricked. A patrol must be headed this way, "It's time for me to go," it muttered, "Good luck," with a flick of it's tail, the fox was gone.
And, just as urgently, Mothwhisker was awake.
Breathing hard, and eyes wide, Mothwhisker shot up in his bed of soft grass, swiveling his head to make sure he hadn't woken anyone else up. Was this his true future? Did Starclan send a demon to warn him? They would never, but a warning was a warning, even if spoken by a demon. Creeping out into the cold night air, Mothwhisker found a spot to sit and looked around at the sleeping clan. They would never abandon him like that... right? Taking a second to reassure himself, he spoke aloud, "Only medicine cats and Owlstar get special dreams," he murmered, "Whatever I had was just a silly nightmare," Although terrified, Mothwhisker felt a peace wash over him. It was certainly not the true future - after all, the clan was all about community. Pushing his nest closer to a friend, he curled up tightly and drifted back to sleep, confident that his "future" vision had been wrong. All the same, however, he never went out too far by himself...
