Kalon Name: Redwood
Prompt (up to 500 words):
Redwood was in her garden, a large Oak tree was growing beautifully in it alongside the plants. She had noticed a nest of birds had made home in the branches of the tree! Delighted, she watched the birds from a distance, carefully making sure not to startle them away. Finally, the small chicks had hatched! Redwood decided to leave a few birdfeeders out for them. The birds were growing now, brown feathers and all, but not quite ready to leave the nest.
One day when Redwood was inside, the clouds had turned a dull grey, and small drops of rain were coming down on her window of her home. She worried for the birds, but it was only light rain for now..
Eventually, in an hour, it had gone from a small scattered rain to a large booming thunderstorm. The furious wind shook the leaves of the oak tree and all the plants, and large booms of thunder and lightning were seen and heard.
Now Redwood was even more concerned, she looked outside, but could barely see the nest over all this rain. She sighed, heading back inside.
A large boom outside shook her home, then a crackling noise, and a thud. Startled, Redwood race outside to find her Oak tree had gotten hit by thunder and had fallen over. Shocked, she remembered about the birds! Without thinking twice, she rushed outside, immediately hit by the persistent rain.
Making her way towards the tree, she found the branch broken off, nest fallen over, and the two parent birds were nowhere to be seen. She turned over the nest and found a small chick, chirping in fright. Redwood had to do something! She picked up the bird, it's home destroyed, she would give it a newer, safer one. She brought it inside, immediately got the fireplace running, and put the bird in a small, soft towel and warmed it up.
Mind racing, she had no idea how to take care of a chick and quickly did some research. Using this to guide her, she looked after the chick until it was a young adult.
Now, the small chick had grown into a young adult, and Redwood and the bird became best friends. The bird loves to nestle in her fur and hair, and perch on her head. They both look after the garden, which now grows a new oak tree they had planted recently. She lets the bird fly around her home and go outside, even if it means the bird leaving.
Now... Redwood needs to find some way to communicate with the bird, just in case anything happens. Using different kinds of whistles that mean different things, they can communicate easily in birdsong. But not the complex kind.
But the bird always comes back, not ready to leave forever. Inspired by this small one, she opened a sanctuary for sick and injured birds, even abandoned ones. Kalons are grateful for this, glad their birds are safe.

(That is the most I have typed for a prompt woah)
Extra (if applicable): Stuff about the birb!
Likes: Spending time with Redwood, helping out, flying, bird baths and perching in various places.
Dislikes: thunderstorms and rain, being lonely, being sick or bored, messy areas, missing Redwood
Other stuff: Shinobu (named by Redwood) usually enjoys socializing with other birbs, especially at the sanctuary for the birbs, and is not a loud bird like you would expect, but they do sometimes chirp. They like to help, but sometimes will get the chance to fly around for a bit outside and go somewhere for a bit. They always return, because Shinobu misses Redwood if gone too long, but will always chirp about their short trip.
