Sparkblaze used to come by a near river and drink there. It was a cold winter day and the river was really calm when a twolegs came by and saw him. „Darling, come here“, she said and another twoleg came. Sparkblaze stayed calm and watched them. „Look at this cute kitty“, she said and pointed at Sparkblaze. The other twolegs said „Yeah, it is really cute.“ „Do you find he got a home yet?“, the women asked his husband. „Doesn’t look like that. He isn’t wearing a collar. Do you want to adopt him?“, he answered. „I’d love to.“ „Then what do you want to name him?“ „Lennox.“ „Lennox?“ „Yes. Lennox. I mean he is sitting by a calm river and he seems really calm too.“, the women explained. Then she walked towards Sparkblaze and tried to pet him, but Sparkblaze ran away.

Leafstripe is always climbing trees to collect acorns. He uses the acorns for practicing pouncing, plus he likes batting them around when he’s stressed. One day, a twoleg way hiking through the woods of SnakeClan territory, minding his own business, when out of nowhere a small acorn thumped onto his head. Confused, the twoleg looked up and furrowed his brow, shielding his eyes from the sun. He saw a small cat clinging to a branch, looking like he had just been caught stealing. Leafstripe flung himself off of the tree and tried to escape, but the twoleg blocked his path. “Whoa there, Acorns!” He chuckled “You shouldn’t pelt people with those things. They hurt.” Leafstorm backed up and fluffed out his short pelt. “It’s ok, I won’t hurt ya. C’mon Acorns. I got cat food at home.” The twoleg offered, kneeling down. Leafstorm took a few hesitant steps, going towards the creature and sniffing his hand. The twoleg peeled its lips back and Leafstorm hissed, bolting off in the direction of camp, leaving the twoleg watching him.

Cougarstrike glared down from his perch high in the juniper tree. That pair of twolegs was back again, walking along the dirtpath with their stinking dog. It was the third day in a row that he'd seen them. Neither the twolegs nor their stupid, slobbering companion had noticed him yet. He had hoped that they would just leave and that would be it, like the others that came from time to time. These twolegs seemed determined to claim this territory as their own, though.

He had to teach them not to underestimate JuniperClan.

With a furious yowl, he leapt down from the tree onto the unsuspecting dog, sniffing at the tree's base.

Terrified, the dog tore its leash free from the twoleg's grasp and fled back down the path where it had come. Cougarstrike chased it for a distance, hissing, then turned back towards the twolegs to deal with them.

He snarled. They were laughing at him! He stalked forward, ready to strike.

The smaller twoleg- a female, Cougarstrike guessed- was speaking between bursts of laughter.
"That cat... came flying out of that tree... like some kind of kamikaze divebomber!"

The bigger, scruffy male crouched down and advanced toward Cougarstrike with an outstretched paw, still laughing. "C'mon, Kamikaze!"

The female nudged him. "You're going to get bit. Let's go get Chester and go home. That poor puppy's never going to want to hike with us again!"

Cougarstrike retreated to the brush and watched as the twolegs retreated. As they disappeared, he sniffed with self-satisfaction. JuniperClan's territory was secure once again.

"How are you this morning Shnoot?"
The human asked, gently dabbing a cotton swab along the deep gash on her nose, the human muting a laugh as Rosemary leaned backwards and sneezed. She'd sneeze all the time, the irritation from the scar always rubbing her the wrong way- it was the reason the human insisted on the annoying name. Rosemary wouldn't deny that she had grown affectionate with the human, even despite the weird namesake they insisted upon.
"Shnoot how are the kits doing?"
The human asked, running a hand along their belly after abandoning the cotton swab. This human was something of an expert with animal health- other cats called them a vet. After her kits were born she let Rosemary go and in good faith, her kits remained. She'd check in on them from time to time until one day her kittens were gone. To this day she still fondly recalls her time as shnoot.[157/250]

Prompt;; "Kitty!" The small twoleg yells, running towards Hareleap. Jumping back, he ran back and hid in a bush, watching the twoleg cautiously.

"It's smaller than normal twolegs," Hareleap says to nobody while trying to remain hidden.

"You're a scaredy cat, aren't you, kitty?" The twoleg says, walking towards where he was hidden. Another twoleg spoke, distracting the one near him. While the twoleg was distracted, having turned his back, Hareleap took his leave, running back to woods.

Despite the fear, Hareleap found himself returning, observing the twoleg from afar. The twoleg tries to approach, yelling "kitty!" when he sees him each time, but they get into a pattern, watching each other with an Eagle eye.

"Hey, kitty," The twoleg says and then they sit and observe. "I wish you could be mine but you're not like my kitty. He loves cuddles, you don't."

The twoleg let out a sigh, sitting on the grass and crossing its legs. "Maybe if I introduce you to Cat, you'll like me."

Hareleap tilts his head, not understanding what the twoleg was saying. He sat down, staring up at the two leg. "No... You won't like that. You're not made for cuddles and loves," the twoleg says sadly. "Anyway, bye, kitty!"

Prompt;; “Fishbranch! Will you stop gaping at the stupid twoleg and hurry up? It can’t come over the Stormwall and you know it!”

Fishbranch cringed at hearing his name. He hated it. From the moment he’d learned his title in the nursery— Fishkit— he’d wanted to dig a hole in the ground and die of embarrassment. Fishkit? He knew his mother really didn’t care much for him, but... Fishkit? He was always teased when he was young, being called Fishface or Fishsticks or an array of other humiliating names. Now, equipped with the oh-so noble name Fishbranch, he trudged through life just wishing he could have been literally anything else. Sighing, the spotted tomcat turned away to follow after the patrol hidden in the underbrush, but froze as he heard heavy footsteps right behind him. The ‘stupid twoleg’ had come right up to the Stormwall this time! Usually, he just stomped along the edge on some pathway and disappeared around a bend. Fishbranch had seen him a few times, but never so close up. He whipped around against his better judgement, desiring to see what he looked like.

He immediately regretted his decision. The twoleg was so catastrophically ugly that he scrambled backwards. Jeez— Fishbranch might have had a less than stellar name, but at least he didn’t look like that!

The twoleg reached out a hand towards him through the fence, but suddenly seemed to notice one of the Stormwall’s many white plates covered in strange markings, and grunted in what appeared to be disappointment.

“Seems like you’re trapped in there, Pancakes, my boy. You seem fat and happy, though, so I’ll leave you be.” There was a pause. “Pancakes. I like that name. Say cheese!”

Fishbranch was dazzled by a bright light in his face before the twoleg got up and was gone, whistling down the trail before disappearing around that familiar bend. The warrior sniffed disdainfully and turned away, tail flicking as he moved to join the patrol. Pancakes? He didn’t even know what that was supposed to mean. Ridiculous.

But, I mean, hey, it wasn’t Fishbranch!

Prompt;; Wheatfrisk sat in the middle of camp, giggling and repeating something to herself. Honeystar heard the cat and came over, puzzled. Had Wheatfrisk gone mad? Whatever she was repeating, it sounded like nonesense!
"Are you okay?" Honeystar asked. She stared, confused, at the warrior.
Wheatfrisk looked up and replied, "No, no, I'm fine. Some Twoleg who keeps passing by while I'm hunting- he started calling me 'Miss-mou-sie.' Not sure what that means, but I think I have an idea."
"What is it?" Honeystar replied.
"Well," Wheatfrisk said, "he kept spotting me when I was catching mice. I'm relieved he didn't scare them away! But anyway, he kept seeing me catch mice, so maybe it has something to do with me and mice? I'm just guessing. But it was pretty funny- he brought another along, pointed at me, and said that weird word."
"Interesting." Honeystar said. "Maybe I'll see him sometime too."
Wheatfrisk nodded. "Well, I should go take a nap- I'm pooped. Talk to you later!"

Jaws watering, I stretched, paws sliding on the glass.

The butcher dangled a scrap of flesh from some fallen creature. I craned my neck to watch it swing in his fingers, the tantalizing aroma tempting me. With my long legs, it only took one more stretch to bat the delicious treat. The man laughed before letting go, and I caught it in my jaws, delighted. A few quick chews and it was gone, the sweet taste no more than a memory. Then my muzzle was turned up again, round eyes wide with excitement as I awaited the next scrap.

This was the butcher, a kind human who was at this deli every day.

I was born in the alley, the runt of a litter of five. By the time we'd opened our eyes, we were living on the streets, abandoned in some battered cardboard box in the shadows of the looming buildings above.

We didn't stay together long. The other kits scattered, feeling ready to fend for themselves in this cruel world. I retreated further into the shadows, staying hidden, staying safe. I lived on scavenged leftovers from trash cans.

During a sudden storm, amid the violent torrents of rain, I sought shelter in the nearest building. By sheer luck, this happened to be the deli, a place of wonderful smells and aromas- and I later found that the source was meat.

Lots of it.

The man quickly noticed me trying to drag some meat off the counter. I froze, expecting a painful kick to the side, as I had experienced time to time again, but he only smiled and handed me a few scraps of meat. I was still wary of him, of his intimidating appearance and suspicious willingness to share, but I quickly grew to like him, this human who was different.

This human who cared.

Now, every day, I visit my favorite human as the sun begins to set. He never fails to smile or forgets the little chin scratch I love.

I, too, never forget to visit.

It's no surprise he gave me a nickname: Scrappy.
