Nova felt her heart pounding as she tried to tiptoe her way around. She did it every night, and yet she still felt terrified every single time. Hardly daring to breath, she allowed herself to glance up at the sky, where unfamiliar constellations shone.
She spotted a star that stood out. It wasn't any bigger than average, nor was it any brighter. What made it special was the light it gave off. It was an electric blue, like nothing she had seen before. In other words, itwas perfect.
Then came the hardest part. She crept towards the star, getting as close as she dared, while also trying to stay in the shadows. She could see the star. She could make the jump. She just had to hope that no one was stargazing at that moment.
She lept, and soared through the air. She hit her mark perfectly. Her claws snagged on the star. She pulled it from the sky, leaving the constellation looking empty. She felt the blazing heat between her two paws. It was her star now.
Before someone could notice, she had to escape. She glanced around wildly, before finding what she was looking for. A small tear in the dimension, impossible to see with the untrained eye. Making sure not to drop the star, she lept through the hole.
Galaxies swirled past her as she fell through time itself, before landing in her own universe once more. She recognized the constellations. She had, after all, created them. Finally, she thought to herself. Home sweet home.
Even though she had successfully stolen the star, she still had work to do. She examined all the stars in her solar system, trying to find the perfect spot for a new one. Finally she found a spot where it would look just like it belonged.
It was time for her favourite part. She cut a piece of her favourite string, and held it to the light. Deciding it was strong enough, she began tying it around the star. She had learned many knots in her time hanging stars, and her nimble paws quickly secured the star.
Climbing up as high as she could, she tied the other end of the string to the sky. It hung there, swaying gently in the breeze. She smiled as she surveyed her handywork. There was a new star in the sky.

The stars glittered brightly,
All because of her
They were a mosaic of the galaxies
From which they had been taken
Some changed color,
From season to season
Other disappeared
And reappeared
But they all shone, regardless,
Over the starry night sky
