Story: Ivy was always the least of the most. Born into a long line of specially marked horses, Ivy was to be a great competitor. With her lineage of champions and beautiful coats, she was almost guaranteed to be amazing. Almost. When she was born, everyone was indeed pleased with her coat. She was gorgeous, with delicate designs of a variety of plants. Her striking eyes contrasted with her black and white coat and the natural ombre effect of her mane and tail were mesmerizing. As she grew she was treated royally. Everyone was proud, and she was quite the favorite among the colts.
Soon the time came for Ivy to begin her training in dressage (naturally). Everyone was excited; her owners, her parents, and all her friends, but instead of excelling like everyone thought she would, Ivy had trouble learning the steps, or getting in tune with her rider. She could never remember the steps and would often get mixed up. It didn't help that she was a rather clumsy horse.
The more she messed up, the more the attitudes of the other show horses Ivy had known all her life began to change. Instead of praising her and staring in awe, they would whisper as she walked by, and the more bold ones would sneer and laugh at her. This was so different then how she'd been treated before. She had believed these horses were her friends. The young mare began

to pull inwards, rarely talking to the others and standing alone in fields. Even her parents were disappointed in her, no matter how they might try to hide it.
Eventually, Ivy's owners gave up on trying to teach her. She simply couldn't execute the complicated steps needed for dressage. Instead, they decided to sell her off, hoping they could still get a decent price because of her meticulously crafted lineage. This hope was dashed, however, when word "mysteriously" got out about Ivy's lack of talent. Combined with her age and detached temperament, this ended any dreams of getting high prices for her. Her coat was beautiful, but it couldn't overcome her other perceived problems.
In the end, her owners sold her for a very low price to a stable for misfits, named Lilies of the Valley Stables. Most of the horses there were all unwanted at some point, either because of personality or background. At first, Ivy was cold to everyone there. She would stay away from the other horses and snap at them when they tried to approach her. She refused to trust anymore. Then, after around a month of this constant self-isolation, one of the
mares came up to her. "Look, if you're going to stick around here, you're going to have to get over yourself and quit keeping yourself away from everyone else. We all know that you came from a rough place, but so did a lot of us. Heck, I was heading for a slaughter farm before the owner of this place saved me. So stop acting as if we're all out to get you and just try to get along with somebody. Anybody!" (Wippy here)
Best Friend: Aurelia. Ivy and Aurelia met when the young mare first came to the stable. Not many of the other horses liked Aurelia because of her endless energy and talkative nature, but Ivy found it rather amusing. She would listen to the little mare talk on and on about the most random things, nodding her head at the right times and occasionally adding in a word or two of her own, but mostly content to simply listen. Aurelia loves Ivy and thinks she's one of

the nicest horses ever. She defends Ivy valiantly and drags her on most of her adventures.
Crush: The handsome Benedetto. Besides the fact that he is absolutely gorgeous, Ivy loves talking with the stallion. His eccentric, dramatic personality and grand way of talking make her laugh, and his charming romantic gestures, even if sometimes unintended to be so, make her heart leap. He is so outgoing and easy to talk to that it puts the quiet mare at ease. Sure, some may call him rather vain, and he is sometimes, but Ivy doesn't much mind that. In fact, his silly fussing about his coat can be rather endearing sometimes.
Also, did I mention the fact that he's gorgeous?Favorite Plant: Ironically, Ivy's favorite plant isn't actually a plant. It's a fungi called
Bear's Head Tooth Fungi. She finds this fungi to be absolutely beautiful, especially when she can find a bunch in one spot. In fact, in the forest just outside the stables, there's a large area filled with it. She thinks it looks like a bunch of clouds floating all around you. She also thinks young ones are delicious.
