Asmund is a mythological Norse creature, that accompanies lost souls, either to Helheim or Valhalla. When he’s not guiding souls, he guards the gates to Helheim, under the command of the goddess Hel. His goddess allowed him to roam as he pleased, as long as souls are being brought to her domain. One night as he was guiding souls to Valhalla, he grew very fond of a young soul, Eria. Asmund being centuries old, was growing softer in his years, taking pity on the young soul, he guided her back to her body. The young girl returned to the world of the living, thanking the mysterious creature. When his goddess found out what he’d done, she was furious, and sent him to exile. Asmund took a new form as he returned to the living world, as a frightening creature. He wondered the universe, for decades, being feared by many, and told as a bedtime story to disobedient children. Eventually Asmund found the girl he saved many years ago, who’d grown into a beautiful woman, doing what she’d dreamed to be as a child, apart of the Valkyrie. He spent his life watching over her and protecting her, until her death. Asmund stills roams the universe, searching and searching, not knowing what he’s looking for.
