extra words [ 565 /600] :: "You really should stop making those, Kolden. I don't think it's healthy." The large orange kalon spun in his chair, a blue pumpkin in his lap. He grimaced, making a growling noise before he responded. "First of all, Bro, I'm not Kolden anymore- I'm Kandy!" The yell made the questioning individual flinch away from Kolden, only seeming to flee farther away from the other with each second that passed. He looked around the room, covered from floor to ceiling in pumpkins. Ones carved with full landscapes as the subject, ones that were abstract... and, the most unnerving, ones that appeared to be carved to look like a kalon's head. The concerned one left quickly, watching as Kolden swiveled his chair back around to work on his pumpkin.

The fall night was cold, but the sight outside was what really made them shiver. Usually, a house only had one or two pumpkins out, maybe four if it was a family with children. However, Kolden's house seemed to be decorated with nothing except for blue pumpkins. Each pumpkin was decorated with a cartoony face, much like tradition. They thought for a moment, out of all of the pumpkins... maybe they could take one with them so they could get Kolden some mental help.

Almost immediately after their paws felt the cold skin of the pumpkin, the door to the porch slammed open, and an angered kalon stood beyond the doorframe. "Let go of my son!" The male yelled, causing the thief to panic, bringing the pumpkin close to their chest as they ran. They knew Kolden was out of his mind, it was clear. His room, his yard, his obsession with his own markings, everything about him proved that he was anything but mentally sound. Now that they had proof, maybe someone who could help would believe him.


November 1st, 2018

Local investigators and police were brought to a house on the outskirts of town at about 2am, after an emergency call of someone who had been seen twitching violently before falling down in their lawn, according to one neighbor. Kolden Hawfield, aged 25, was found on the ground in front of his house, surrounded by blue pumpkins carved with assorted jack-o-lantern expressions. After further investigation, it was found that every pumpkin was carved by Hawfield, and that each pumpkin took about 2 hours to carve.

A calendar was found, which had carving patterns for every day of the year. Most of these patterns were also found on pumpkins inside of the kalon's room. The trashcans were only filled with pumpkin remains, and all containers in the kitchen were filled with pumpkins and pumpkin-related products. Hawfield was brought in for mental evaluation, and the pumpkins were also brought in as part of the investigation. A friend of Hawfield then took to taking care of the house, and removing the pumpkin remains from the house.

November 5th, 2018

Kolden Hawfield has been missing from the local hospital, and from public record, for about 2 days as of the time of this record. Appearances of blue pumpkins have now become common, and multiple concerned residents have contacted forces about strange blue lights from the forest, as well as inside of the pumpkins which have been showing up recently. Hawfield's location cannot be pinpointed at this time, but a search party has been sent to look for the missing kalon.
