jack is very dismissive about a lot of things. he tends to be avoidant of his issues and ignores his guilt. for the longest time, he worried he'd be like that in romance, too. he didn't want to mistreat kalons he loved. he was, needless to say, pretty anxious. since he was little, his family put pressure on him to get a partner and carry on the family name. when he came out as trans, they used it as an excuse to ask for grandkids. once he was 15, he was at his wit's end. he was so pressured to find the right partner, treat them right, and possibly have children, that he considered giving up love all together. but, like any good fable, his true love came to save him.
jack was doing his thing online when a new friend request popped up. he absentmindedly accepted, unknowingly sealing his fate.
he started chatting with the mystery kal, growing fonder and fonder daily.
eventually, in his health class unit about relationships, he was tasked to write about his ideal partner. then, that sheet would get passed to the person next to himm, and they'd discuss how healthy those expectations were.
jack wrote:

he told the mystery kal about his new crush, the looks, the smile, the way his heart pounded!
the mystery kal didn't respond for a while. jack worried he had hurt their feelings.

15 minutes later, his phone went off, with an image attachment from the mystery kal. it was a picture of jack's crush!

the message read, "am i your ideal partner?"

ideal significant other; jace perri isn't one to just fall in love at first sight and not knowing who they are. he is one to need a strong bond with someone before even considering them to be an ideal significant other. it's quite easy for that to happen due to forming a strong relationship between someone else in a few days after quite a few long talks. so that's quite easy to come across in an ideal significant other.

after looking in a large pool of potential ideal significant others, jace at first will always attempt that their personalities balance each other. if he feels as if they would work with him but doesn't balance out his personality, he would adapt a bit to meet that exception. for that personality, the ideal significant other just has to be quite affectionate and a little talkative but not too much. that's just the first part and it gets even more pickier from here.

looking at possible selections, he tends to find personality and physical traits that are a good booster for him. a height around his is a good start due to not liking being towered over by someone or towering over anyone else. for personality, he doesn't want to have someone who is too hyper and extroverted or who is just not intelligent and lacking common knowledge, so someone who is both introverted and on the smart side of things.

after that selective search in possible significant other, he had a smaller selection but quite possible to find a significant other. he must at least have quite a bit in common with them. it was in order not to argue as much and to have somethings to talk about with them. another thing is that they must at least be willing to have kits because of how he's wanting to have a few. the final thing is that their is a connection between them both with love being a good chunk of that bond.

it seems as if he's too picky about an ideal significant other; however, he feels as if it would be the best match for him.

This just wasn't what I was looking for. This was really cute and innocent, but not well written out. Almost as if you just thought of something and typed it down, without connecting the ideas and making a partner that one can imagine? At the end of your response I couldn't imagine or picture in my mind what the ideal partner was meant to be.

Okay, I was really just confused? I searched all your posts for an Anthony, I expected him to be a real kalon, since you specifically mentioned him and gave them a whole story line. I even went through searching for a blonde Anthony kalon? I don't know, maybe I'm confused and missed the point. I just expect that when a kalon is made the center of such a prompt focused story line, that they'd be real or explicitly mentioned not to be real.

This was really general to me. Such a broad explanation didn't really pinpoint what Scotch would be looking for. (I love the name though!). I couldn't connect to the idea nor did it seem really personal.

This was such a cute story! I really loved the idea of him and his best friend, and the ladybugs were an especially unique staple of the relationship. I especially love the best friend. It's such an overused cliche but I will never tire of it. There wasn't enough detail about their falling in love though. I really wanted to feel it! I loved the details, but how did his friend come to associate him with lady bugs? Little things like that.

I was very confused. Maurice - dark skinned. I feel very stupid for not understanding that? I also had to read the story a few times to understand and I still kind of don't? Did he fall in love with Albie? Was he shot by a cupid's arrow? Was he shot by Albie? Is Albie a cupid? Is there a cupid? Is Maurice the cupid? Who did he even fall in love with? If you took time to clearly develop these ideas, I'd have probably loved it. I love fantasy and mythology and I really wanted to understand it.

Also didn't understand this. Was his significant other the one who was being described or him? This was also a really general explanation and I didn't really feel it. It was more of a what about you do I like than a why you are the one for me. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was kind of what was missing.

I got really intrigued with Jack's family life honestly. The turn it took into his romance wasn't well transitioned, personally and had me confused at first. I honestly wanted to ask more about his family! Are they rich? Why are they so insistent that he gets married and has kids? Is he an only child. I would have literally loved if his dream SO is someone who can reproduce and be nice and that's it, since it seemed to be such an extreme story line. But the plot twist at the end was so cute! I really loved it and I could imagine a dramatic, "Am I your ideal partner?"

This was such a cute specific one. I loved the thought of them like swiping left or right on Tinder? This is such a dating website or dating show approach? I just wasn't feeling it for him. I really liked it, I just wasn't expecting such a calculating and intelligent approach to it? If that makes sense? I can't picture this guy thinking deeply into who his significant other is and singling it down like that. Perhaps that is just a bias to the way I developed him.

Adonis has the same personality as Skyes, and I kind of wanted to change that. I know this slightly contradicts my review on fernmoon, but I wanted him to be different, but not so drastic that I can't picture it. This was just too close, and I want this guy to have a better future than being hated by all kalon-kind for his excessive flirting.

Whoa. I literally got emotionally invested in their relationship? And Kingston is real (and a stunner might I add) which helped me picture them as their love grew. I genuinely want to see them grow old together and have tons of kids! The way Skyler developed, and the references to his personality blew me away. Ximon is best wingman. The relationship gave me so many feels. I hope you actually keep Skyler and Kingston together forever and I can't wait to see what you do with them! I want to see all their little kids and a cute little family with a picket fence and a pet dog.
