legend: when cain was young he was framed for the murder of his biological parents. however the state believed that it was self defense and placed him into foster care. 10 years later at age 18 cain once again was faced with murder charges, this time those of his foster parents. the state declared him a threat to society and placed him in prison. however each prison he was placed in he managed to escape, even the famous albatross. with no other options he was left on an island full of the most notorious criminals, there was only one rule here: every man for himself. the island is surrounded by a massive wall, full of traps and automatic weapons, step within 50 ft of it and you're toast.

There is a realm that exists far beyond human perception, where spirits, good, bad or ugly, reside. Known as Purgatory, it is often described as a prison between Heaven and Hell; A prison that is host to some of the most feared creatures to have ever lived. However, none is more feared than the Sani, or the Darkness. The Sani is more of a heavy, black mist that appears without warning, often times reducing a once sunny day to nothing more than a pitch black abyss. Those who find themselves trapped within often feel the sensation of being watched, as well as seeing a mysterious glowing orb and hearing strange noises. Those that follow the light rather than staying put are often never seen again, spare the shredded, bloody clothes that are often recovered later. However, many have claimed to hear their companion calling out to them from the Sani after they disappeared.

These, however, are ancient accounts of such an event. The Sani has not appeared for centuries, possibly more. The last know sighting of it appears to have been recorded in a poem dating back to 1666 entitled O Holy Fire, which describes a black mist the enveloped London before The Great Fire started. Many at the time believed the mist was the work of the Devil, and that the fire was an act of God to save the people.
WIP

Sani is similar to the Wendigo in the sense that it was once normal before an evil influence corrupted it. It is weak to fire, and both it and the mist that manifests wherever it goes can be dispelled using it. Other than that, it shares no other resplendence to the Wendigo.
