Thunderstar glanced at the two remaining kits and frowned. They did not appear to have the same enthusiasm as their sister. “Thrushkit, are you okay?”

“HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US?” Thrushkit cried, his eyes widening in horror. The look of pure distress was apparent on the poor kit, who was visibly shaking where he sat. His ears were pressed fla against his head and he felt only a cold numbness wash over him. “I THOUGHT YOU WERE OUR MOTHER! YOU SAID YOU LOVED US AND WE WOULD BE SAFE HERE!”

Thunderstar tilted her head quizzically. “What do you mean, Thrushkit?” She asked, unsure of why he was so upset.

“When you took us in you promised you would love us forever and that... and that we would be safe here! Why are you replacing us so soon? Do you not love us anymore?” He paused for a moment, not making direct eye contact with Thunderstar. “Do you not love me?” He cried, curling his tail over his paws in an attempt to give himself some comfort.

Behind him, Robinkit rolled her eyes and plopped onto the ground, not saying a word. Thunderstar decided it was best to focus on Thrushkit right now, seeing as he was more distressed.

“Of course I love you Thrushkit, why do you think I would ever replace you? I would never do that! Tinypaw and Squirrelpaw are your siblings too, adoptive of course but we never replaced them. Adderbite and I love your older siblings very much, just as much as we both love the three of you.”

“But... but you said...” Thrushpaw sniffled. Thunderpaw picked him up by the scruff and sat him close to her, nuzzling him in an attempt to give comfort.

“When the rescue group brought you back here to the tribe, I promised that I would take care of you and the other two. I don’t break my promises. Starclan as a witness, I will never stop loving you.” She purred.

“Forever?”

“Forever.”

Thrushkit nuzzled his head into Thunderstars matted pelt and stopped sniffling.

“Why don’t you go join Conurekit in the nursery while I talk to Robinkit? You guys can talk about more kit names, or go play a game.” Thunderstar purred.

“Okay mama. I love you!” Thrushkit mused, rubbing up against her fur one last time before tripping over himself in an attempt to make it to the nursery. “Conurekit, wait for me!”

"Willowpaw, guess what," shouted a voice from behind her.
Willowpaw and her siblings turned around, their mother and father standing there. "What mother?"
Willowpaw's parents looked at each other, "We're having more kits," she exclaimed happily.
Her faced turned from shocked to happy. "Let's hope they aren't in the next few moons, us three still need to finish our training. SIlverstar can't handle us three already," she joked.

Prompt: the siblings had a meeting. they actually had a meeting to decide whether it was good news or not. "are we not good enough for them? why on earth would they want more kits?!" doepaw screeched, fur prickling. flamepaw was pacing back and forth, a scowl plastered to his face.

"maybe... maybe we can convince them to change their mind and send them back!" he said, thinking he was a genius. both of his sisters turned to him with a look of pure disgust.

"flamepaw that's not how kits work." rosepaw said with a smirk, looking back down at her front paw and continuing to gently lick it, drawing it over her left ear back and forth.

"rosepaw how on earth are you so casual about this?! they're replacing us!" doepaw fumed, whipping around to look at her calico sister, who was nonchalantly sitting there, grooming herself.

"you two are so immature." rosepaw responded, her eyes practically rolling into the back of her head. "they aren't replacing us... i'm pretty sure..." she mumbled at the end, wavering in uncertainty.

"just because you were born first doesn't mean you're older or more mature than us!" doepaw retorted at the top of her lungs.

flamepaw, the runt, seemed to have the same thing in mind. "yeah!"
