"Survival is key, quick thinking is essential"
Orange-yellow eyes flickered as the day broke out in the forest. The sun was only peeking through the trees, but was almost completely covered in clouds. One could say it was quite in the forest, but that would be a lie. Cries and calls of birds could be heard higher above in the trees. Below, on the ground were wild boar snorting as they grazed.
Tigressa, a lone scavenger in a large rain-forest, was making her way through to find a safe place to rest. She had be awake all night, the darkness was not safe for sleep. She stood up, her lower paws gripping the tree limb beneath her as she assessed where to jump to next. Once she had her focus, she started her jumps again and continued high in the air. At one point, her leg gave out and got tangled in vines that hung from the trees. Tigressa almost fell to the ground but thought fast, her front paws grasping the near tree branch and held tight. Looking at her leg, she could see the tangles and was able to use her other lower leg to pick at the vines until she was free. She immediately moved her body upwards onto the branch, resting for a moment. In the process of the event the leg had gotten scratched up. Her face became furrowed. "This no good. I need...to fix."
Her front paws stretched out the individual claws, inspecting the leg before looking at the tree's leaves. Ripping a few leaves, she then sniffed the air, looking down to see sap coming from the tree's bark. A toothy grin came from her face before wiping one leaf with some of the sap. Finally, she pulled at a small vine hanging above her until it loosened up for her to have. Within a moment or two, Tigressa transformed the natural ingredients of the forest into a paw-made bandage! Once tightened on her lower leg, she felt rain trickle through the leaves above her.
"Tree no good cover. Need better cover." She grimaced. "I no like the water like this, too cold." Despite being clearly alone, Tigressa spoke out as if explaining to the animals and trees around her how she felt. She'd been alone quite sometime now. With not way of tracking time, she honestly started to believe she was always alone. Tigressa shook her head at the thought, trying to find some focus again. Her eyes saw in the distance the large cluster of canopy trees. She steadied her body to make sure her back legs were ready then went off again in her sprint of finding a dry spot. Despite being a mammal that shouldn't be capable of such climbing, she had to teach herself and often watched monkeys on how they got around in the forest. Not as fast or agile per say, but she had it down now.
Once she arrived to a nice covered spot not taken by tropical birds or small mammals, she finally sat down her lower legs dangling from the branch. The rain continued, but she was safe and satisfied. Before her, the rest of the forest could be seen and it was a site she probably would never get tired of.
