Story

Kai was a very confident and well smug cet'. He thought that
he was the coolest of the cool, that he was the best and most amazing swimmer
in the whole universe, But after a pool party, held by his friend a few years back,
he realized that he honestly wasn't. He played it off cool
with the whole "ha! I was just messin with y'all, I can swim just fine I'm the greatest,
I just don't wanna swim cuz you might get hurt by how awesome I am!" So everyone just
went with it because they knew he'd never admit to almost drowning.

That incident was actually very embarrassing and awful for Kai. On the outside
he acted like it was all good like nothing was wrong at all, but on the inside
he felt completely different the opposite in fact. All he could think was, how could a cet'
with his patterns like that of a goldfish or koi and the name Kai literally meaning ocean,
possibly not be able to swim? He felt like a failure but no matter what happened he
was going to somehow swim and show everyone that he was darn good at it.
His day to shine would come a chance to redeem himself from the tragic event
that he had endured at that pool party.

Today was the day, he agreed to go to the beach with some friends.
He was gonna show everyone he could swim, how you may ask, well...
he took the liberty upon himself to purchase a pair of arm floaties.
With a smug grin on his face and a twinkle in his eye he set out to prove
everyone wrong. He walked out onto the beach the sun blazing down on the sand.
His floaties glistened in the light but nothing shone more than the pride he had
in himself. He smirked proudly and highly looking around at everyone as
he walked down the beach towards the water.

The looks and grins everyone gave him didn't seem very encouraging
they weren't nice, no not at all. They started laughing at Kai like
he was dressed up like a clown putting on a show. Not only did this
discourage Kai but it also hurt his feelings quite a bit, but at that moment
he wouldn't let it put a damper in his mood. His ego was much larger than
their harsh words and laughs. Now was his moment, as his paw touched the
cold water he froze up a little, but pushed on till his paws could no longer
touch the bottom of the ocean, he smiled and looked back at his friends
and yelled "I'm swimming guys see I told ya'll I could!!!"
They looked at him and smiled laughing because of how happy he was.
Kai felt amazing the water was so cool and relaxing he became absorbed in it.
From that day on there was never a time he wasn't in the water.

Story: Gannett was confused. He was just about to go swimming when a huge wave flattened his home. Standing on the roof of his home, endless water all around him, Gannet jumped off his roof into the lukewarm water began to swim, only his floaties and lucky necklace on his possesion. Now, Gannet had never been the best swimmer in the world, and even with the floaties he began to grow tired.

"Anyone here? Please, anyone who can help me?" He cried to the empty world, the waveless expanse of water. The water rippled as a siren like voice cried out to him.
"Under the water! I'll come up to get you." The water swirled in circles, a tunnel appearing in the murky blue. A female Viscet stepped out, lion ears flat out, green pelt with not a drop of water on it. She looked like a wizard, stepping from the sea, tea colored raincoat billowing behind her.
"Come this way," She pointed to the tunnel of swirly sea, "We have a cave, you won't drown." Gannet had heard of sirens, but she didn't look like one, as most had sopping fur and twinkling eyes, luring swimmers and sailors to horrid death. Her fur was totally dry, her red eyes kind, not luring. He followed. The water closed in behind him as he walked into the cave, all set up as a cozy home. Another viscet sat in the cave, calmly reading a book on the bed.
"What happened out there?" Gennet asked, "Where'd that wave come from?" The green viscet sighed.
"I'm Tea, and my friend Muriel," She pointed to the blue male reading on the bed, "His father cursed him to stay in the ocean, so he tried to remove all the water, instead, he flooded the whole area, we don't know where the water stops... You look tired, where'd you swim from?" Bennet pointed to where his home once stood on a map, wishing he'd been able yo save a few other of his possessions besides just his floaties. Tea's eyes widened.
"You swam over a hundred miles with just your floaties on. How did that happen?" People had always told Gennet not to be so smug, not be so proud of himself, but today he thought it was justified. He'd swum a hundred miles in cheap plastic floaties, impressive for any viscet but insane for him. Gennet smiled widely, and for once, didn't care if he looked smug.
